Info:This is a true addon that fully converts Windows XP Professional into Windows Tablet PC 2005.
It is Tablet PC with SP3 (Yes, Tablet PC 2005 can be slipstreamed to SP3, unlike Media Center 2005)

It is not recommended to use this addon with languages other than English

This works with Ricks MCE addon, in fact, I built it with the purpose of using it with Ricks MCE addon to create "XP Ultimate", so that I didn't have to install MCE and Tablet PC Components during RunOnceEx like I was doing previously. I studied Ricks MCE Addon carefully to make sure that there were zero conflicts with the addon. This addon works fine without Ricks MCE addon.

This addon requires Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 SP3, and it requires a special process, basically using a "True .NET 1.0 SP3 Addon". A real MCE or Tablet PC disk will install it, but I went through hell with forcing .NET 1.0 SP3 to install on a normal XP disk.

Fortunately, Onepiece was kind enough to make a modded inf to make it work, he then left the resulting .NET 1.0 SP3 addon to me to maintain.
Ricks MCE will still require .NET framework 1.1.

Hmm, I think I did something wrong when I installed it. I took my tablet xp disk and expanded all the components and let it install them when it prompted me for them. But now when I try to activate the TIP, it comes up with an error saying it has to close. Did I miss something in my install?

Also I notice it still says xp pro under the system settings when I look there. I noticed on one of the install examples it reported tablet xp?

I tried to use wpi, but I'm not sure I set it up correctly. Is there something I need to do that's different from the general step by step instructions? I found this page through google, so this is my first add on, and I'm lost. Is there a good thread to read that will tell me step by step what to do with this?

Use nLite Only, along with the .NET 1.0 true addon, it won't work without it. If you do it this way, it should work. You might have to start over if the integration got messed up.

I personally haven't seen it, but I tested this on XP SP3 Pro Clean source with OnePiece Update Pack 2.0.0.

So, let me get this straight. .NET Framework 1.0 is REQUIRED in order for this to work?

I don't even install .NET FW 1.1, let alone 1.0. Anything I can do to get around this dilemma? I have a legitimate Tablet PC XP OEM disc that came with my laptop.

I have a legit MSDN copy of Tablet PC, and it does install .NET 1.0, but doesn't list it in add/remove programs. Look in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework. If there is a v1.0.3705 folder, .NET 1.0 is on your system. A v1.1.4322 folder means 1.1 is on your system.

So yes you need .NET 1.0, and use my addon, because a SVCPACK/Switchless won't install in time to get my addon to properly register.

Hey CODYQX, what (which error) fix EXE in Svcpack folder?

That EXE that my addon puts in SVCPACK is just a compiled batch file that runs this command
"%windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705\Copy2Gac.exe /i /a /p:"%ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Ink\1.7\"

This fixes the Input panel and OSK for Tablet PC by registering them with .NET.

%CommonProgramFiles% is the best variable for that, all xp langs have a different common files folder name

I don't know if there is supposed to be a mouse cursor in InkBall.

Also, this addon is English only, so I wouldn't expect it to work on non-english XP.

Anyway, I never saw the change keyboard on my XP, maybe it's for non-english XP only.
