Selecting "Use Professional visual theme" on either Home or MCE sources does nothing. Both Home and MCE will use their own respective XPtsp themes regardless if that option is checked or not.

The applications tab of the task manager is missing the display window. The other tabs are fine. This is with any version of XP (Home, Pro, MCE).

Yup, the microphone is on. Work has picked up a bunch and I haven't been able to get online to do much of anything lately. I'm sorry the Task Manager report and visual theme report have gone unanswered. I'm going to try to rectify the issue soon.<tap tap tap> Testing...testing <tap tap> Is this thing on?
Hello?
I also haven't gotten any notifications on new postings from WinCert. Maybe a problem with the email program or my web server. I dunno.... haven't looked into it yet.
EDIT: I've modified my Wincert forum settings so that the email gets delivered to the right address....
I've run a test of the patcher in XP Home and can't duplicate the report that checking the "Use XP Pro visual theme" doesn't work....

The Task Manager bug is a show-stopper for me. I don't know what other info I can give that will help you track it down.
yes we have discussed this problem for a long time and it seems there is no solution/ at the moment ...

I'm sorry. I didn't mean for the problem to go unresolved for so long. On what themes does this problem exist? Thanks!yes we have discussed this problem for a long time and it seems there is no solution/ at the moment ...

@Mr_Smartepants,
If you use the green batch with Xptsp Gui there are no task manager problems. Just tested in virtualbox on xp pro.
I just tested it on a fresh build and the bug is still there. I'll try the blue/neon theme as well as downloading the green theme files again.I only ever use the Green theme. Thanks for looking into it.

OK, I tried the blue theme with the original extras and the bug is present
OK, I tried the green theme with the original extras and the bug is present
OK, I tried the green theme with the neon extras and the bug is present
So the bug must be in the resources of the green/blue theme.
...more testing.

Everybody: I've replaced the task manager resource file (TASKMGR.EXE.RES) with the one from the batch version and removed TASKMGR.EXE.GREEN.RES from the Green theme. Testing indicated that the replacement and/or deletion of resource files was successful in resolving the issue. I reenabled the hex-editing for Task Manager and that seems to work as well. So I uploaded the new Green theme package to the server.
However, I found a different problem in the Original extras, relating to the CAD 2009 program. The resizer script that I wrote was somehow corrupted in the CAB file, and caused an error when CTRL-ALT-DEL was pressed. Some registry settings for the INF uninstaller were completely wrong. Also, somehow a unpatched copy of Task Manager got into the CAB file. So I fixed all those issues and uploaded a new Original extras package to the server as well.
I'm pretty sure these changes will resolve the Task Manager problem, but let me know if it doesn't. Thanks!
I'll look at the Blue theme tomorrow. I'll probably require the similar changes that Green theme got....
BTW, I'm sorry I haven't had time to look into the issue. Work has kept me extremely busy and my personal life has taken up the rest of my time....
EDIT: Irritating side notes about the CAD2009 add-on: Uninstaller doesn't remove all traces of the program from the hard drive..... Resolution would be nice :g:My CAD2009 add-on can be found here.....
EDIT2: A proper uninstaller has been written for my QTTab add-on. However, it has not been included in the newest Original extras package.... It will be included in the next revision....

Few niggles though. The GUI app now flags the freshly downloaded green theme and original extras as "out of date". I'm sure that's because your version checker hasn't propagated out this far yet.
Also, the non-english resource patching is listed twice. See below.

I've built a new XP Pro source using the updated green them and original extras using 3.0.0.18 and I'm running it through virtualbox now...
*Edit
Using GUI 3.0.0.18 with the new green theme and original extras works perfectly. Thank you.
BTW, what changed between 3.0.0.18 and 19? I can't find the changelog.

Awesome! Thank you for the feedback!I've built a new XP Pro source using the updated green them and original extras using 3.0.0.18 and I'm running it through virtualbox now...
*Edit
Using GUI 3.0.0.18 with the new green theme and original extras works perfectly. Thank you.
GUI 3.0.0.19 is failing in my tests. I can't get it to successfully complete the driver.cab compression. 3.0.0.18 takes about 5 min for that step, 3.0.0.19 takes about 25 min to reach 100% then hangs.
Ummm.... I forget what changed. I've pulled v3.0.0.19 from the server and will figure out WTF is going on....BTW, what changed between 3.0.0.18 and 19? I can't find the changelog.
EDIT: I think the only thing that changed was an attempt to correct for weird usernames, like ones with ampersands and such....
Regarding Home Edition, I've fixed this bugI just wanted to let you know of a nagging bug with XPtsp GUI v3.0.0.18.
Selecting "Use Professional visual theme" on either Home or MCE sources does nothing. Both Home and MCE will use their own respective XPtsp themes regardless if that option is checked or not.
I also need to investigate the integration code to see what I can do there.....

EDIT: Fixed this issue.... Also removed the "Create System Restore Point" option from integrations, as it just doesn't make sense....Also, the non-english resource patching is listed twice. See below.
EDIT2: Lemme work on this one some.... I've forgotten how the GUI tests the "versions"...The GUI app now flags the freshly downloaded green theme and original extras as "out of date". I'm sure that's because your version checker hasn't propagated out this far yet.
EDIT3: This one should be fixed. I extracted the source for v3.0.0.18 and have been modifying it instead of using v3.0.0.19 as the basis for v3.0.0.20. (Still testing v3.0.0.20.... Unfortunately, testing modified installs takes about an hour each test...)GUI 3.0.0.19 is failing in my tests. I can't get it to successfully complete the driver.cab compression. 3.0.0.18 takes about 5 min for that step, 3.0.0.19 takes about 25 min to reach 100% then hangs.

I feel your pain! Thanks for taking the time to fix these. My installs in virtualbox take roughly 30-45 min each. Unfortunately, allocating more RAM or CPU cores from my quad-core doesn't seem to speed things up much.Unfortunately, testing modified installs takes about an hour each test...
