IT SEEMS THE Xbox 360 is receiving non-official price-cuts in the UK.

Xbox 360
Play.com is now offering the Xbox 360 Premium for a bargain £170 delivered. Or an Arcade for £150. This will probably not appease this analyst who's called for a 'proper' price-cut. However, another analyst believes the US price-drop should at least propel the 360 in the charts for the next month or two. Dell is now offering a free Xbox 360 Elite - providing you spend a small fortune on one of its laptops, reports Gizmodo.

Fortunately, you won't be forced to use the new Xbox 360 dashboard on your new Elite, so says Major Nelson.

PS3/PSP
A Java homebrew devkit for the PS3 has emerged and Engadget does its best to show it doesn't know what Java is capable of here. A new Sony PSP model has been spotted, with an in-built mic and a new PS button.John Koller, Sony's senior marketing manager for PSP, has mentioned that GPS-enabled games could eventually hit the PSP - which would be an interesting use of the technology.

Wii/DS
Satoru Iwata has apologised for Nintendo's weak showing at E3, with none of the key-titles earlier promised. A new disk-dumper, that dumps Wii DVD contents to SD cards has been made available. Gamesindustry.biz reports that Nintendo platform titles currently dominate the charts.

Eurogamer has this week's Virtual Console round up.
