If you want a wireless headset for your gaming, Corsair has you covered.

In the extensive and intensive research of three and a half minutes on Google, we couldn’t find a name for a genuine cable phobia, which lends undeniable weight to my argument that there’s absolutely no compelling reason for wireless gaming headsets.

I mean, where do you plan on playing that a cable won’t reach? But if you insist on being untethered (read taking a bio while still listening to the Skyrim soundtrack) then the V2000s might be for you.

The headset features a unidirectional boom mic on the left can, a response range of 20 – 20kHz, a battery life of 10 hours and a range of 12 metres; though we managed almost twice that as long as we maintained line of sight with the USB transmitter.

The 50mm drivers do a decent enough job but we’ve always found that wireless headsets in general can’t compete with their tied-down brethren. In the comfort stakes, out of the box the V2000s headband is supple enough and eager to please, but our watermelon sized head felt the pinch only a couple of hours into game time.

At the asking price, they’re not too bad a value proposition but for true lovers of sound, there are far better tethered options. apcmag
