Microsoft Office Access can't change the data type

When you perform an operation on an Access 2007 table, you might experience the following error:

Microsoft Office Access can't change the data type. There isn't enough disk space or memory.

Errors were encountered during the save operation. Data types were not changed. Properties were not updated.

You can see the screenshot of the problem below:

Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot Open the Outlook Window

Today, once I've installed my new OS Windows 7 RTM with Microsoft Office 2010 Technical Preview and have configured all of my mail accounts, I've tried to delete some un-needed .pst file. Well, that was a mistake, once I closed Outlook I got Blue Screen and PC restarted, I tried to start Outlook and soon after the splash screen it showed an error:

"Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot Open the Outlook Window”

Even after uninstalling and repairing Outlook 2010 using the Office 2010 set up, the same error occurred. Outlook failed to start even in the safe mode when this error occurred. I have also tried to remove Outlook profiles and all .pst files, create new ones, but with no luck.

This error is due to the problem with Outlook navigation panel which is failing to start and this could be due to many reasons like improper shutdown of Outlook.
The fix to this problem depends on the issue with Outlook. You can fix this issue using the methods mentioned below.

1. Open Start menu and Click Run (Windows Key + R) and type Outlook.exe /resetnavpane. Now try opening outlook, if the issue was due to navigation panel, resetting it would solve the issue. If the issue is still not solved, try step 2.

2. Run the Inbox Repair tool in Outlook- Inbox repair tool (Scanpst.exe) is included in the Office CD and is a tool to repair issues with Inbox personal folder (.pst) files. You can check the Microsoft KB article 272227 for more details on this.

It is most likely that you can solve this issue using Step 1.

How To Slipstream Office 2007 SP2 on the CD

Office 2007 use the Updates folder from the installation media to install any new updates that it finds in the folder, however the updates need to be in the .msp file format for them to be recognized. Since the Office 2007 SP2 update file is delivered in the .exe format, an extra step is required before being able to proceed:

First, you should copy the contents of the Office 2007 CD/DVD to a temporary folder. For our example I'll use D:\Office2007. I have also copied (office2007sp2-kb953195-fullfile-en-us.exe) to the root of the D:\ drive.

Then, using the Run command in Windows XP/Vista (WinKey+R), or in command prompt run the following command:

D:\office2007sp2-kb953195-fullfile-en-us.exe /extract:D:\Office2007\Updates\

replacing D:\ with wherever you stored the Office 2007 SP2 update file and D:\Office2007\ with wherever you stored the Office 2007 files.
After agreeing to the Microsoft Software License Terms, SP2 will be extracted to D:\Office2007\Updates\.

That's it! Just start the setup for Office 2007 and the updates for SP2 will then be picked up and installed during the setup. The same method applies to any other Office 2007 SP2 update.

You may also now burn the files to the DVD so you have SP2 integrated in your installation.

Sending reported error (0x80042109): 'Outlook cannot connect to your outoing (SMTP) e-mail server'

I've received the following error for all my accounts on a fresh installation of Outlook 2010.

Sending' reported error (0x80042109): 'Outlook cannot connect to your outoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

Solution:
I've noticed that Microsoft has changed the default SMTP port in Outlook 2010 from 25 to 587 as you can see in the picture below.

Outlook 2010 setup

So, if your ISP's SMTP server does not allow port 587, you won't be able to send e-mails until you change the SMTP port to 25.
