30 years ago Intel presented its Pentium brand along with the Celeron range of CPUs that came 2 years later.

After the release of Core series CPUs back in 2006, both Pentium and Celeron have been assigned to low-cost budget CPUs usually featured in budget laptops or workstations.

In 2023 both Pentium and Celeron brands will be retired and replaced by “Intel Processor” which will mark CPUs for low-end laptop offerings. Intel Processor will come with a brand new “Intel Inside” logo.

According to Intel’s press release notes, this purely is a branding move and doesn’t affect any of the actual hardware development changes and leaves unchanged Intel’s current product offering and Intel’s product roadmap. This means that “Intel Inside” will stand below Intel Core i3 CPUs in terms of power, price, and capabilities.

Intel named this change a new, streamlined brand architecture while the company will focus more on its flagship brands Intel Core, Evo, and vPro.

We can expect some of the first “Intel Processor” CPUs presented at CES or other shows and become available sometime in the middle of 2023.
