iPhone X and iPhone 8/Plus announced

On the 10th anniversary of their smartphones, Apple has launched two new smartphones during their event at Steve Jobs Theatre in California. Alongside the new flagship model iPhone X, Apple also presented the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, 5th -gen 4K Apple TV and Apple Watch 3.

New iPhone X is all screen, 5.8-inch Super Retina HDR Display while iPhone 8 Plus will have 5.5″ and 4.7″ Retina display. Instead of the aluminum case, both models have an all-glass enclosure. Apple stated that this is the most durable glass in the smartphone world. Known as Corning Gorilla Glass 5, it should sustain harder punishment and will be twice as good at resisting scratches.

New iPhones are powered by A11 Bionic chipset will be available in two storage 64GB and 256GB sizes. As expected, Apple decided to remove the home button from the iPhone X but it will stay on the iPhone 8/Plus devices.

The biggest innovation for iPhone X is the TrueDepth camera which allows you to unlock your phone with Face ID. Face ID is Apple’s facial recognition system that can map the user’s face even with a low light environment.

Apple also presented their AirPower charging pad that will charge an iPhone and an iWatch simultaneously. Along with the Airpower charging pad, iPhone also supports Belkin and Mophie devices for wireless charging.

iPhone 8 and Plus models will become available for pre-order on 15 September while the iPhone X will become available for pre-order on 27 October. The first shipment of the Iphone X will start on November 3rd.

The price of the iPhone X for the 64GB model will be $999.00, while the 256GB model will cost $1,149.00.
