Microsoft confirms three new features for its Edge browser

<p>Microsoft has just confirmed that they are adding three new features or utilities to the Edge browser&period; As stated in its <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;microsoft&period;com&sol;en-us&sol;microsoft-365&sol;roadmap&quest;filters&equals;&amp&semi;searchterms&equals;96098" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank" rel&equals;"noopener">official M365 roadmap page<&sol;a> the new utilities will include Calculator&comma; unit converter&comma; and Internet speed test&period; All of these will be located in the browser sidebar&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><img class&equals;"alignnone size-full wp-image-3490" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;wincert&period;net&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2020&sol;01&sol;edge-browser&period;jpg" alt&equals;"" width&equals;"1813" height&equals;"725" &sol;><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The new features should become available for the Edge stable release in August of 2022&comma; while Insiders with the Edge Canary channel can already test new utilities&period; Insiders can also test other new tools including a translator&comma; a world clock&comma; and a dictionary&period; Microsoft Edge&&num;8217&semi;s popularity is on the rise&comma; especially now when IE has reached the EOL&comma; and many enterprise users are now switching to the Edge browser&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Other features that are planned for the Edge browser include a built-in VPN and a Games Bar&period; Many of these features are already included in Windows&comma; so it&&num;8217&semi;s unclear why is Microsoft loading this into the browser&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Hopefully&comma; after all of these feature integrations&comma; the Edge browser won&&num;8217&semi;t become a resource hog or a process that will consume a large number of system resources which might result in users switching to other browsers&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
