<p>Microsoft is currently facing a lawsuit filed by attorney David M. Schlachter, who is asking $1.75 million in compensation after his email account was locked out. According to Schlachter, the issue was caused by a bug that prevented him from verifying his identity.</p>

<p>The problem occurred with Schlachter&#8217;s paid Office 365 account, which he was using for six years now. Back in May, he discovered that he is unable to access his account because of a two-factor authentication check. This process requires the system to send a verification code to his phone via text message or automated voice call. However, whenever Schlachter tried to choose one of the 2FA options, he received a frustrating message &#8220;Sorry, we&#8217;re having trouble verifying your account. Please try again.&#8221;</p>
<p>Schlachter&#8217;s login process ended in an endless loop, and he claims that he made many calls to customer support, often waiting on hold for several hours. Unfortunately for him, the calls either ended or were disconnected. After this bad experience, Schlachter&#8217;s patience went off and he decided to file a lawsuit.</p>
<p>In his legal action, Schlachter mentioned the critical importance of the email account for his professional responsibilities, including court filing systems and client communication. Being unable to respond to his email messages could result in cases against him.</p>
<p>To compensate for the damage, Schlachter is asking for $750,000. Additionally, he is also seeking $1 million holding Microsoft responsible for its failure to promptly restore his email access.</p>
<p>As of now, there is no response from Microsoft regarding this lawsuit.</p>
