Microsoft launches Hummingbird, an AI powered News app

Microsoft has introduced another news app called “Hummingbird”.  Unlike Microsoft News app that is available for Android and iOS devices, Hummingbird uses AI to better suite your interests.

It is powered by AI that can learn to curate stories and videos for the topics of your choice and with time it is able to learn your interests and show news content accordingly. For the best experience you’ll have to use the Microsoft or LinkedIn account although you can skip the registration if you just want to test the app.

Once logged in you can choose your “Mix” which are topics you are interested in. Unlike Google News, you can’t drill down to granular options like a specific company, team player or sport, instead you can choose categories like road trips, cooking, celebrities, NHL, golf, etc.

The bottom of the app gives you three tabs, Feed, Search and Me where Feed shows you articles of your interest while Me provides saved articles and search history. For now Hummingbird is available only for Android devices and only to customers from the USA.

If you are looking for a good and completely different news app, maybe you should give Hummingbird a try. Hummingbird can be downloaded from the Playstore if you are located in a supported country, or from APK mirror.
