<p>Microsoft is launching its new Copilot+ PCs to lead the rollout of the highly anticipated Windows 11 24H2 update. Advanced laptops, optimized for AI, will come pre-installed with the latest operating system, but most users will have to wait a bit longer unless they&#8217;re part of the Windows Insiders program.</p>

<p>Earlier this month, Microsoft paused the 24H2 rollout and pulled the OS beta update from the Windows Insiders release preview channel without providing a reason. They mentioned that the rollout would &#8220;resume in the coming weeks.&#8221; While some attention is back on the release preview channel, Microsoft is shifting its focus to the Copilot+ PC line.</p>
<p>The Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop with Snapdragon X are the first models in this new Copilot+ series. These PCs began shipping on June 18 after weeks of teasers. The initial 24H2 release will include only the core components needed to showcase the AI capabilities of these machines. Other features, like HDR background support, Energy Saver, and Sudo for Windows, are expected to be released later.</p>
<p>The full version of 24H2 should become available in September, at which point any compatible PC can be upgraded. Users will be able to update their OS via Windows Update by selecting the &#8220;Get the latest updates as soon as they&#8217;re available&#8221; option and clicking &#8220;Check for Updates.&#8221;</p>
<p>If Windows Update doesn’t work, alternative methods exist to install 24H2, including the Installation Assistant, and downloading the update from the Windows Insiders stable channel once it&#8217;s available.</p>
