Microsoft has just released an updated version (2023.11110.8002.0) of the Photos app for Windows Insider users. This update brings various new features and improvements. One of the notable features is the capability to remove and replace backgrounds in images.

This feature has been long awaited and is expected to be popular among users who want to create professional-looking product photos by isolating logos and other design elements. Rather than relying on potentially unsafe websites that offer these services for free and thus may compromise your credentials, the latest Photos feature provides a safer and more enjoyable way to edit photos. A similar feature was already introduced in the Microsoft Paint app.

Additionally, the app’s user interface also received some minor adjustments. Previously, the zoom and full-screen options were located at the top of the screen, but they have now been moved to the bottom right. Furthermore, a new button has also now been added to the bottom left, allowing users to toggle the filmstrip.

Another practical change has also been made to the context menu when right-clicking a folder in the Folder list. Users will now find a quick-start option for slideshows, making it easier to enjoy their photos.

The updated Photos app is currently being rolled out to Insider channels and is expected to be available to all users in the coming weeks.
