Microsoft to limit the amount of data you can store on OneDrive

Starting on February 2023, Microsoft will place additional limits on the amount of data you can store in OneDrive.

According to the information sent to its users via email, Microsoft will begin counting attachments that are linked to your Outlook.com email address accounts. This means that all attachments that are stored in your existing email accounts will now be counted as stored files on your OneDrive account.

The company said that this change will not impact your Outlook.com mailbox storage amount, but it may reduce how much cloud storage you have left to use with your OneDrive. In case you reach your cloud storage quota, your ability to send and receive emails in Outlook.com will be disrupted.

Another change coming from Microsoft is related to email aliases within Outlook.com. Starting on November 30, 2023, Microsoft is removing personalized email addresses in Microsoft 365, also referred to as aliases.

As posted on the Microsoft page this change will affect personalized email addresses for connecting domains owned by GoDaddy. This means a feature that allows you to associate your Outlook.com email address with a separate alias that points to a personally owned domain will be removed on November 2023.

On the other hand, the feature that allows you to associate an alias with your Outlook.com email address will remain.
