Notepad & Snipping tool get AI upgrades

<p>Microsoft has announced exciting updates for Notepad and the Snipping Tool&comma; currently available for testing in Windows Insider builds&period; These features will roll out to stable versions after feedback and testing&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><img class&equals;"alignnone size-full wp-image-4885" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;wincert&period;net&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2023&sol;01&sol;notepad&lowbar;multiple&lowbar;tabs&period;png" alt&equals;"" width&equals;"1195" height&equals;"997" &sol;><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Notepad is getting AI-powered text summarization&comma; allowing users to quickly condense content&period; Powered by Copilot&comma; this feature requires users to sign in with their Microsoft Account&period; To summarize text&comma; users can select it&comma; right-click&comma; and choose &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Summarize” from the Copilot menu or use the shortcut &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Ctrl &plus; M”&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>AI-generated summaries adjust based on text length&comma; and the feature can be disabled in settings&period; Please keep in mind that Microsoft 365 subscribers will need to have AI credits to use this tool&period; Another useful addition to Notepad is the &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;recent files” feature&comma; making it easier to reopen closed documents from the File menu&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The Snipping Tool is also getting an upgrade with the &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Draw &amp&semi; Hold” feature&period; This allows users to refine rough shapes into precise lines and figures&period; After taking a screenshot &lpar;Windows logo key &plus; Shift &plus; S&rpar;&comma; users can draw a shape&comma; hold for a moment&comma; and watch it automatically refine&period; The shape can then be adjusted before saving&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>These updates are currently rolling out to Windows Insider users and will soon be available for all Windows users after testing&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
