Windows 10 v1909, v1803 and v1809 will reach EOL on May 11

Microsoft has just announced the end of life (EOL) for Windows 10 Home and Pro v1909 versions and Windows 10 Education and Enterprise v1803 and v1809 versions on May 11, 2021. This means that Microsoft will stop servicing and releasing security updates for these versions after May 11, 2021. If you are still using these versions it is highly advisable to upgrade to the latest version of Windows 10 v20H2.

Microsoft has also confirmed that there will be no extended support for these Windows 10 editions, which was the case with Windows 7.

Windows 10 version 1909:

Windows 10, version 1909 will reach the end of servicing on May 11, 2021. This applies to the following editions of Windows 10 released in November of 2019:

  • Windows 10 Home, version 1909
  • Windows 10 Pro, version 1909
  • Windows 10 Pro Education, version 1909
  • Windows 10 Pro for Workstations, version 1909

These editions will no longer receive security updates after May 11, 2021. Customers who contact Microsoft Support after this date will be directed to update their device to the latest version of Windows 10 to remain supported.

Windows 10 versions 1803 & 1809:

Windows 10, version 1803* and version 1809 will reach the end of servicing on May 11, 2021. This applies to the following editions of Windows 10:

  • Windows 10 Education, version 1803 and version 1809
  • Windows 10 Enterprise, version 1803 and version 1809
  • Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, version 1803 and version 1809

These editions will no longer receive security updates after May 11, 2021. Customers who contact Microsoft Support after this date will be directed to update their device to the latest version of Windows 10 to remain supported.
