<p>Several days ago, Microsoft has released an optional Windows 11 update (KB5014019) that brought some new features. Unfortunately, this update seems to be badly affecting Trend Micro applications.</p>

<p>According to Trend Micro, the mentioned update affects the UMH or User Mode Hooding required for ransomware protection. With KB5014019 installed Trend Micros driver stops and cannot work anymore.</p>
<p>Trend Micro has also <a href="https://success.trendmicro.com/dcx/s/solution/000291066?language=en_US" target="_blank" rel="noopener">published an advisory</a> on its website regarding these issues.</p>

Trend Micro is aware of a potential issue where customers who apply the optional Microsoft Windows 11 or Windows 2022 optional preview patches (<a href="https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/may-24-2022-kb5014019-os-build-22000-708-preview-442dbde4-ce28-4345-aecf-2d4744376418" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KB5014019</a>) and a reboot would find that the Trend Micro UMH driver would stop.</em></div>

<div>Trend Micro is checking these issues and plans to resolve them before the update KB5014019 becomes mandatory and is released to all Windows 11 systems. In order to mitigate these issues, the company advises its customers to uninstall the update from affected systems or contact Trend Micro support.</div>
