Windows 11 Moment 5 update released

Microsoft has just officially announced the release of the “Moment 5” update for Windows 11. The update is currently being gradually deployed to Windows 11 users seeking it through Windows Update. Microsoft plans to fully activate the new features in the optional non-security updates planned by March 2024. Eligible devices will receive the “Moment 5” update automatically on April 9, 2024, which is the date set for the April 2024 Patch Tuesday.

“Moment 5” is a minor update, and among minor improvements, it brings better sharing capabilities, Windows 365, screencasting, and updates to Windows Settings. Additionally, the update includes enhancements for Windows Autopatch, providing IT administrators with greater control and simplifying update management.

For a full list of all the new features in Windows 11 “Moment 5,” you can visit the Microsoft support page here.

If you wish to experience the “Moment 5” update before April 2024, you can install it now manually.

Open Settings | Windows Update, turn on the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” option and then click “Check for updates” to download the available updates.

Please keep in mind that the new features are being rolled out gradually, so you might not be able to access them immediately, even with the latest optional updates. As mentioned above full availability is expected with the March 2024 non-security updates.
