<p>Microsoft recently rolled out update KB5053598 for Windows 11 24H2 as part of its latest Patch Tuesday release. This mandatory update includes critical security fixes, but according to reports from Windows Latest, instead of improving user experience, it&#8217;s causing significant problems for many.</p>

<p>One of the biggest issues is the update failing to install. Users are encountering various error codes, including 0x800F0993, 0x800F081F, 0x80070032, and 0xC004F211. Sometimes, the installation process gets stuck at different percentages, such as 6%, 20%, or 38%. Even more frustratingly, some users see the update reach 98% or 99%, only for it to restart, display an error, and then roll back automatically.</p>
<p>Even those who manage to install the update successfully aren’t necessarily in the clear. Some users have reported experiencing Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) crashes, boot failures, and issues with Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), which disconnects after a few minutes.</p>
<p>At this point, Microsoft has not officially acknowledged these problems or provided a fix. Unfortunately, there’s no reliable workaround available, either. If you&#8217;re facing these issues, your best option might be to roll back the update through Windows Update settings.</p>
<p>This situation is especially frustrating because KB5053598 was designed to patch crucial security vulnerabilities, including the CVE-2025-24983 zero-day flaw that could allow attackers to gain elevated privileges on a system. While security updates are essential, users need an update that works without causing system instability. Hopefully, Microsoft will address these issues soon.</p>
