I would like to make my PC even more quiet. I already have Antec P183 case which already is pretty quiet. as it has two fans with 3 different speeds, along with a 3-layer side panels for noise dampening. My Intel stock cooler is rather loud, and although it spins at the full speed, this temperatures don't look normal to me. CPU Idle: 37 Celsius CPU Load: 50-55 Celsius CPU speed (2056rpm) constant I have mount the Intel Stock cooler as is, without re-applying the thermal paste. See picture HERE. Because of that I was thinking of replacing the stock cooler with Scythe Zipang v2. Unfortunately, this cooler isn't available in stores here, so I was thinking about Scythe Shurik…

I am going to order a new mobo etc. for a eMachine t3624 for a client. I have never replaced a mobo in a manufactured PC as was wondering if there will be a issue with the mobo fitting in this PC. the old mobo is 8.2 by 9.2 and the case is 10 ver. and 9.5 hor. So I believe that there will be no issue with it fitting. I just want some opinions. Also, this setup doesn't come with a heatsink so I have a AM3 heatsink from my 550 and from what I have read, that all AM2, AM2+ and AM3's will work with each other. Is this true. Thanks

OK, I decided to do a RAID 0. This is my 1st RAID setup. On my mobo I have the option to RAID SATA's 1-4 and also 5-6. I can not do just 5-6 without the 1-4 so I have 2 160G as my OS etc. (SATA's 1 and 2). My SATA 3 is for my burner and the SATA 45 for id for my eSATA. My question is, Why does my burner/eSATA come up as RAID? I did nothing with those when I RAIDed my HDD's. Should I worry about it? Any input would be appreciated. THANKS

I decided to upgrade to a 550 BE, and yes I plan to unlock the cores. LOL. Anyway I got it from MicroCenter for 87 NewEgg was selling it for 95. Now for the main reason why I started this post. While I was there I found out they have a great deal there right now. I got a GIGABYTE GA-M61PME-S2P for 17.99 with a 10 MIR. It maybe a older mobo but this one also supports AM3. So I will but my 250 in it. This PC will go to my mother since she needs one. So if you in need of a good deal MicroCenter has $20 off any AMD mobo's with purchase of select AMD CPU's.

Hi everyone. I'm planning to buy a new motherboard because my pc's motherboard doesn't have a pci-e slot and there's no agp8x videocard available in our market right now. I've read on some websites that electro static wrist strap is important when constructing a new pc. I will only buy a motherboard which is LGA 775 socket because my old motherboard is also using that socket. Is it a good idea that i will wrap my fingers with electrical tape as an alternate method using the electro static wrist strap because there is no electro static wrist strap available in our market.... another thing is that, can i use the old devices in my motherboard? such as DDR2 RAM, HDD, COMBO CD…

I bought Patriot Viper II 4GB (2 x 2GB) 1066. After 2 weeks I had 1 sticks heat spread keep falling off, after about 2 months the other stick died. I sent the dead stick out and got a replacement in around 2 weeks (that's after they got it). I sent the other stick (with the bad heat sink) out around 2 weeks ago, and yet have not got a email with the tracking number for that replacement. Mean while, this replacement (2 weeks old) is bad. I will get a BSOD when I have it set for 1066. It works fine and passes MemTest on 800, but fails on 1066. OK, I just wanted to give people a heads up. I am sure it's just my luck. These are the only rams I have had go bad on me.

OK, I am trying to get a gaming card. As you all know I don't have a job so money is tight. I am looking to spend around 60-80 USD I might go a little higher if it makes a big difference. This is something I was thinking about getting GIGABYTE GV-R467ZL-1GI Radeon HD 4670 1GB. I currently have a 17" LCD and will not have anything bigger than that for awhile. If anyone can explain what to look for in a card it will be helpful. As of now I have a onboard ATI Radeon HD 4200. Which plays all of the COD's/UnReal on low (never tried a higher setting). I would like to play GTA IV and a few other games. One last question, should you stay away from "off brand" cards. i.e Asus/Gig…

Hi to all, I am using Corsair VX550W PSU for 2 years now and all I can say that IT ROCKS! I've recently changed my chassis and since my PSU is now separated from the motherboard in the means of another chamber (Antec P183), I have 3rd Hard drive in the same chamber and PSU. Since this is a mid tower and I don't have much space as in the big tower, I've decided to go with the modular PSU. I was looking at the HX520W since I think it should be sufficient for my current setup, but not sure if it will be enough if I decided to upgrade my components. I was looking at HX620W which is a bit too expensive for me, but then I've found out that HX650W is available and is even cheape…

hey guys, I need the advice on my new PC chassis which I plan to buy. I am currently using Thermaltake Kandalf and it is a bit too loud for me, although it has very good cooling features and cool looks, so I would sell it and by something else. - I need a chassis to be as silent as possible. - Simple look, nothing shinny, flashy, colorful or gamer one - Not to be too expensive. Actually, I need something like this http://www.bjorn3d.c...ad.php?cID=1117 I really like this Tagan chassis, but unfortunately it isn't available in my country. Any suggestions are appreciated.
