I feel like I am getting confused as I'm not quiet sure what's the difference between all these methods. I know that some things can't be slip streamed but that means they can be integrated and/or SysPrep'd? Would I just be better off installing everything and SysPreping the rest? Is SysPrep even around anumore is AOIK the replacement? I would like to create a Windows 7 SP1 64 bit install ISO that I can use as a base install and to speed up fresh installs and have it be unattended. so i had all updates for my windows 7 ultimate iso in one directory, both msu and cab files. but thanks to one misplaced punctuation mark in a cleanup script i managed to delete everything on the drive containing that folder. i could retrieve most of my data with a recovery program, but some files, including all my updates, was retrieved as null byte files with scrambled filenames i have some iso images with the wim containing all my updates, is it possible to retrieve the updates from my wim images? or is there some log containing the KB numbers created from dism when i installed them? the updates was installed with WinToolkit i think. i don't know if it leaves a…

Ok, so I'm new to slipstreaming. I wanted to slipstream as many updates as possible, as I really dislike spending hours installing them when I reinstall windows. I am using a software called Windows Hotfix Downloader to retrieve the updates. I have now downloaded everything in the updates list. Now while going through all of it I have IE9 cab and exe. Same for 10 and 11. Do I need to slipstream both the cab and the exe or only one? Do I need to slipstream ie9 and 10 or can I go straight to ie11? What exactly does it break when you remove internet explorer from an installation through the remove components part of wintools? It warns that functions might be damaged but which parts are really damaged? What is damaged that might not be re-installed when IE11 is installed? Hello, i've got a really quick question. When I setup a default Windows 7 SP1 and use Windows Update to install all the updates i have like 100-200 Updates. When i download the updates from McRips Update Server i have like 500+. Are there any drawbacks if I integrate all those updates to my install dvd or is it even advised to do that? So no matter what I do if I try to extract the iso, use Windoes 7 usb/dvd download tool, or rufus I can't get this thing to go past 95%. It's just there stuck "copying files" and never finishes or I think it may have failed once. What's going on with this? Anyone seen this before?

Hi, I have to install W7 Ult x64 on a new DELL notebook systems that comes with W8 x64 and merely has USB 3 ports (i.e. no USB 2 port and no optical drive). I assume there might arise problems trying to install W7 SP1 x64 from a stick connected to a USB 3 port. I'm looking for an easy way to inject a Renesas USB 3 driver/driver family into the setup data (which file btw?). I make use of dism (mainly in scripts) or WinToolkit but am interested in the "recommended" method. Any ideas, suggestions, tips? Thanks in advance!
