most suggestions i've read say to look in a couple areas. when i look under \Resources\Themes it isnt there. when i look under %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes it lists one "oem" theme but it is only 2kb in size, so that cant be it. it also has a custom background image when you log-on/log-off and i'd like to save that as well

Well I've (nearly) got my AU.xml file setupcomplete.cmd and Firstlogon.cmd running pretty good. BUT!! I've only just noticed that I have a problem with the user account name. Should be User Account Elmer B. Fuddled Computer Name FEELGOOD-iNC but the user account name I'm ending up with is Elmer B. Fuddled.FEELGOOD-iNC. If I remove the computer name from the autounattend then I get a UI to name it, this new name then gets appended to my User Name. On the left is what it should be (a folder that I've slipped into the .wim file) and on the right... Account as made up for me. Is there anything that I can do to prevent this / where am I going wrong? autounattend.xml <?xml…

HI. After 1 month working hard with wintNT6, wintoolkit, rt7lite and rt7booster, I finally managed to get a full working image of windows7. I say full working beacause now it passes the sfc /scannow commad with 100%. And that was not the case at the beginning, Even if the images were fine and working, They were not able to get 100%. Infact the scan file was corrupted too... This was a problem, if system files check crash and stops at 45 % at the first logon how if I corrupt file in a few weeks? I will need a recovery. What a shame for a fresh image to be born broken. There are 2 kinds of errors, majors ones that make sfc scannow crash before ending scan, and the minor …

Hello, guys. I'm happy to be part of this great forum and i really hope to learn some new stuff. So i got a question... eh i think i got the answer but just to make sure. So i merge my 32x and 64x install.wim to a single file using the great program WinToolkit and everything is working fine. But if i use the 32x folder to put the new install.wim with the 32x and 64x image inside i can use the repair option only for 32x installs and if i want to repair a 64x install i get the error that I'm not using the correct install. I guess there is a difference between the 32x boot.wim and the 64x boot.wim. This problem is kinda annoying because i still need to have 2x CD's with the …

You can get it from here. Remeber it's NOT a final version (a post-beta / RC version)! I installed it on top of a Win Toolkit processed image, with IE9 preinstalled, and everything seems fine. Seems faster than IE9, and also it doesn't have flash included as the windows 8 version.

I'm trying to install Windows 7 SP1 x64 from USB. Windows boots from my USB stick. I select a language for the UI. Click on install. I select the unallocated space on the targer hard drive and setup fails Setup is unable to create a system partions.... Heres the stange thing. When I try to install the image from DVD everything works like charm. The partions is created and windows installs 100%. Any insight would be much appreciated. It doesnt matter if the drive is unallocated, formated, or marked active. I've tried every which way under the sun. I've tried changing the order of boot devices, still no change. I've changed the drive mode in the BIOS from ACHI to IDE, sti…

Things are getting almost official, and the rumours are intensifying. Read more here - Microsoft has no plans for a second Windows 7 Service Pack. It's a pity / shamefully Microsoft has this strategy. However upgrade prices are the lowest in Microsoft history - see here - 40$ for upgrading from XP, Vista and 7, and also 15$ for PCs bought with 7 after june 2012.

Windows 7 ULTIMATE slimming guide here is video programs n softwares u will required LINKS REMOVED!!! Create stripped Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate x64/x86 and remove WinSxS. HERE IS BEST METHOD 1. install waik 2/3 2. install rt7 and vlite with wim filter ( so no need to reboot and install and uninstall waik) 3. run RT7Lite, did not create ISO, ran GimageX (apply then Capture, do not press Append, press Create). Then ran VLite and create an ISO image After you finished with RT7Lite, you have a folder with all the stuff from your Windows image, but stripped down. Call it folder A. or go ahead and create iso and unrar it and use that as folder A. Now run GimageX , choose APPL…

Just have played with win7 deployment, I noticed that "integrated" updates/hotfixes are actually "install pending" rather than "installed", so that they are to be installed "when the image is booted". So anybody knows how to get this done? I would rather like seeing they are "installed", just like the integration of sp1. Also is there a way to remove old packages(old files that have been superseded) to save space?

Found this on nsanedown. Windows XP not suported! Vista/win7/8 only http://download.micr...ull_x86_x64.exe This version of the .NET Framework runs side-by-side with the .NET Framework 3.5 and earlier versions, but performs an in-place update for the .NET Framework 4. So .NET Framework 4 is not needed anymore!!!

I know this isn't a ToolKit problem but it's the second time it happened to me and i am wondering if anyone else had had this: After I finish my installation and some other manual changes to the OS I do a final reboot and the system won't recognize my password... and I can't login at all. The hint is correct which seems to imply the keyboard was typing properly but I definitely can't login in so I have to re-install.
