Dear all, I get an "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" Message box during manual removal of components. Because I have tried it many times and with different order of removal of modules and with many fresh images, there is no specific module that causes that. My environment is Windows 7 64 bit and I manipulate a Windows 7 64 bit professional image. Any ideas?

Hithere, I am in need of some help using Windows 7 Tools. I have all the contents of a Windows 7 installation dvd in a folder. I also have the post sp1 updates from Solor in another folder. The goal is to integrate these updates, and do some tweaks. My guess was to start by using the “all-in-one tool”. To my shame that is where I already get stuck, since it asks for a WIM file? Am I supposed to create one before hand, or do I choose one of the two present in the ‘Sources’ folder from the installation dvd? If so, which one, boot.wim or install.wim? Tia! Jistme

Is there a way to add back an item (to an already installed OS) that was removed from the setup DVD during a W7T integration? It seem to me that I have a game that either depends on something that was removed, or some settings in the install got corrupted cause the game to not work right. I really do not want to do a complete reinstall (again), but I might have to if I cannot figure out the problem.

First of all I'd like to say I simply love this tool. It appears there's no guide for the AIO tool so I'm bound to ask some questions in order to help myself and possibly others get the most out of it. 1. I want to apply the exact same custom settings to all versions of Windows in an image. When I choose 'Select All' in the WIM Manager, that causes the AIO tool to run 5 times in a row, once per Windows version. Am I doing it wrong or is there actually no way to do it in a single run? 2. Is there a way to actually reduce the size of the WIM? As far as I can tell, removing components from a single version of Windows does not achieve that. Would the WIM file become smaller…

As I have bilingual and 86 + 64 images, I needed 4 different image versions. At final I have in Apps folder just one Antivirus version (other 3 I copied manually and rebuild-ed image). I think how it is bug, correct?

1. I'm using original 86x SP1 ISO (hash checked). 2. Regular install pass fine. 3. Install with RT Se7en Lite compilation pass fine. 4. Same (RT Se7en Lite compilation structure) stuck with W7T (during installation). To avoid ISO creation possibility, I also tried simply to copy directory to pen drive. Obviously, I'm doing something wrong. Can somebody post movie with complete procedure? URGENT PLEASE!!! P.S. I'm surprised how this basically great product don't have any tutorial (YouTube)!!! Especially for most important tool, AIO.

(board admin, if too OT, feel free to bump down to Win7 forum plz) I've been playing around with the idea to use a Ramdisk or virtual DVD drive to build my Win7_64 image. I don't intend to put much more on my new image other than Win7_64 Home Premium &a few utilities/small apps, & some file reduction like removing wallpapers, language packs etc. not likely to install even browsers past IE9, since those things are upgraded every few weeks. Will I have enough room on my 4Gb laptop to do this, considering the technet ISO is 3Gb? (perhaps this will be a good excuse to drop $50 on a 4Gb*2 upgrade). I guess one can just use a Ramdisk util, use "create vdisk" command.…

In the latest version of W7 Toolkit when unmounting it doesn't automatically closes or asks to close the open files and folder in result in the end it says "image was not successfully mounted". So request you to add this.

When I integrate all of my updates into my image file using W7T, I also include "IE9-Windows6.1-KB2559049-x64". This I realize is for the x64 bit image of Windows 7. Does integration of the IE9 cumulative update "Windows6.1-KB982861-x64" require just the x64 or the x86 one also? The reason I ask, even after integrating IE9 and then the cumulative update, Windows Update *still* wants to install KB982861. Is there a specific way that needs to be integrated, or is that something that just has to be run afterwards?

So I don't bloat the original thread with too much OT chat: Ref: http://www.wincert.n...ha/page__st__85 http://hotfix.chris1...t.Explorer.9.0/ I will also add this link to the 'Download' tab. EDIT: Done. Will this hotfix remove all traces of IE8 when installing IE9, so I don't bloat my tiny SSD drive, or should I do that manually, or should I put in a tool request?? Thanks for your time!

I recently stumbled upon this toolkit, I have not had a good experience. I'm stuck at the very beginning, yet there are no tutorials, no guides, no FAQ. It's either you know how to operate the toolkit or you don't. I tried to capture the image of my .iso for two days before deciding to delete and look for a different program. But after searching around further, I thought it might be best to come back and make a thread. I select "Capture Image" from the menu. Then I've tried selecting the folder my .iso is in. The folder my .iso's contents was extracted to through another tool. And the mounted .iso's drive F:\ None of these output any form of an WIM to start tweaking. A…

So I discovered this promising-looking tool and immediatelly tried the components removal part. Is it normal that install.wim grew some 40MB bigger after removing more than half of the available packages?
