Ok.. Some of you know that I have upgraded to Windows Vista but I just got bored with it and I want to reinstall XP.. So I reformat my hard drive and installed XP.. but after the installation there is an unknown hardware that needs installing or needs to be installed.. I don't know what hardware is it because it just say UNKNOWN.. Is there any way that I can know what hardware is it? I've checked the system's device manager for uninstalled hardware but there's nothing there.. it's all ok.. here's a screenshot of the unknown hardware.. -------------------------------------------------------------------

Just finished building my new spec pc with the latest bits, and now windows XP keeps crashing. Sometimes the screen just goes blank then after about 10 secs it restarts itself. Sometimes the blue screen of death appears for a second then the computer reboots everytime. Always takes about 5 attempts to get into windows after rebooting.....! Its so unstable now it says 'detected new hardware' for an unknown device, so i tried disabling it to no effect AMD 4600+ dual core processor Gigabit Mobo M57SLi-S4 Socket AM2 550w PSU 2GB DDR2 6400 RAM Creative XI-FI soundcard XFX 8800GTS PCI-E graphics card SATA hard drive IDE DVD-RW drive

Sometime after the launch of XP, somewhere in Redmond, someone on the Microsoft design team was in the progress of developing something for Media Center. It was believed to be too powerful for public consumption and forever archived in the servers at 1 Microsoft Way. Now 3 years later, a young hobbit man by the name of W3bbo saw light of this unheard of theme, and traveled far and wide to uncover its mysteries. One theme to find. One theme to upload. One theme to rule them all. Alright, enough Lord of the Rings talk for one day. Devoted Channel9 member W3bbo spotted an interesting theme on one of the royale_noir.rar

Licensing is probably the most frustrating and depressing thing to confront. Not only are the license structures complicated, but it is expensive! Sifting through all the legalese written in the End User License Agreements that would even make a lawyer scratch their head is an overwhelming task. Today a software audit is more feared than a tax audit with horrendous penalties if you get caught. Getting on the straight and narrow in licensing might be one of the most important things you can do and hopefully this guide can help. What is a software license? A software license is given to you from a software company that gives you permission to use a specific software packa…

Process Explorer Ever wondered which program has a particular file or directory open? Now you can find out. Process Explorer shows you information about which handles and DLLs processes have opened or loaded. The Process Explorer display consists of two sub-windows. The top window always shows a list of the currently active processes, including the names of their owning accounts, whereas the information displayed in the bottom window depends on the mode that Process Explorer is in: if it is in handle mode you'll see the handles that the process selected in the top window has opened; if Process Explorer is in DLL mode you'll see the DLLs and memory-mapped files that the pr…

When i go back to the comp. turning my sisters acc off, and opening mine, after 5 or 6 minuse my PC just restarts :/ I guess it could be connected with hardware as my pc is not completly up to date(Athloon 2200+/512RAM) but if there is any other thing that I might be missing and someone here might help me I would be very gratefull. The issue The Automatic Updates service uses 100% CPU when it checks for updates when Microsoft Update is enabled. The reasons What triggers that behaviour is actually unknown. I think that it's related to the SFC being disabled. The symptoms Enormous slow-down when using the computer: applications take ages to load. This happens often even a few minutes after windows has booted. When you open the task manager you can see svchost.exe using 100% cpu. When it doesn't happen It doesn't happen to users using dual-core or dual-cpu machines because only 100% cpu of one core is used. The Solution There are various solutions on the web however they're just temporary fixes: the p…
