Opening a document with PDF Architect from the quick actions or the history resulted in a PDF Architect recommendation window if the PDF Architect installation was finished while PDFCreator was already in use. Updated to Ghostscript 10.01.2 due to a critical security flaw in lower versions. For more details look up CVE-Nummer CVE-2023-36664. Bugs fixed Using user tokens and having an empty page in the document could lead to an IndexOutOfRangeException. An already installed PDF Architect 9 is now properly detected by the setup. Saving files only temporarily stopped working for automatic saving. Other Changes The use of escape characters in user tokens has been concretely defined. Please refer to the User Tokens section of the user guide for more information. Improved logging in case of errors with the directory. The handling of too long file paths has been improved. Instead of marking the shortened paths with a “..”, the file name is simply truncated at the end to comply with the maximum path length. If a path needs to be shortened, a warning is logged. It creates a draft for you to edit and send the mail from your browser. New quick action for attaching converted documents to open e-mails in Microsoft Outlook. With the DeferLicenseCheck setup parameter, PDFCreator can now be used in more flexible deployment scenarios. Please refer to the user guide for more information on how to use the parameter. GetProfileByGuidOrName method to the COM interface. Bugs fixed The license tab had inconsistant formatting for dates. The tray notifications were not translated and always in English. Other Changes PDFCreator is now available via the Windows Package Manager (WinGet). Proxy settings are retained for updates. PDFCreator now uses Ghostscript 10.02.1. geodasoft Posted March 14 Author Share Posted March 14 PDFCreator 5.2.1¶ Released 2024-03-13 Improvements¶ PDFCreator Terminal Server: By using the new setup command line parameter, /DeferLicensingServiceStart, the licensing service does not immediately start with the installation of the software. Bugs fixed¶ PDFCreator Custom: Some modify actions were not working. On slow computers, there were sometimes unwanted job duplicates in the merge view, and the application would crash when the user tried to delete them. PDFCreator would crash if the selected language had fewer plural forms than the system language. Printer mappings would sometimes disappear when settings were loaded from an ini-file. Other Changes¶ The printer view has been redesigned for enhanced performance and usability. When using user tokens, users are notified immediately if the corresponding action has not been enabled.
