Windows 7 Home Premium COEM Error

Recommended Posts

I downloaded the Windows 7 Home Premium COEM ISO and burned it to a DVD.  I ran it on an HP 2000-329WM and it got bogged down during installation at 1% or so.  Finally I got an error message that the files were not complete and could not be installed.

Any idea what happened?

  • Do you have checked the downloaded file against corruption  (with SHA1 or similar) ?
  • Do you have checked the blank DVD wasn't scratched before burning ?
  • Do you have verified the DVD after burning it ?
  • Do you have tried with and USSB key ?

These steps are needed to be sure it's not the media or install files that are faultly.

It was a brand new disk out of the package, no scratches.

Yes, I verified the DVD after burning.

I have not tried with a USB but I will.

How do I check the file for corruption?

If you downloaded it with the Windows ISO Downloader (heidoc.net) look in the opening program-windows: there is a link to an Hash Archiv; search for your download and compare the hash with that in the archive.
