  1. Hi,I would recommend you perform startup repair. Follow these steps:

To perform a Startup Repair follow the steps below:

    1. Please insert the Windows 7 DVD and reboot the computer.

    2. When we are prompted to press a key to boot from the DVD, please press Enter or the space bar.

    3. Choose your language settings, and then click Next.

    4. Click Repair your computer.

    5. Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.

    6. On the System Recovery Options menu, click Startup Repair. Startup Repair might prompt you to make choices as it tries to fix the problem, and if necessary, it might restart your computer as it makes repairs.

I also recommend you to update the graphic drivers and see if it makes any difference. You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.

    1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and

Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator

password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    2. In Device Manager, locate the device, and then double-click the device name.

    3. Click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver and follow the instructions.

thanks for the reply, but I already tried this method and it doesn't fix the problem. maybe reformatting is the solution. I'll use Vista again and if Microsoft released a Service Pack for Windows 7 I'll use 7 as my OS again. Thank You So Much for your reply.

  2. hello everyone, i've encountered this problem first, when I defrag my pc, second, after i used windows updates.. After i've restart the computer, there's no animated bootscreen that appeared and it stays as a blank screen(black screen maybe).. there's no option like safe mode, restore to last known good configuration etc... after my bios checked for my devices, there it goes.. a Blank screen.. I tried using startup repair but it doesn't fix, even bootsec /fixmbr and /fixboot doesn't fix it? is it a virus? or a corrupt files?

  3. Yes, it will overheat, you must use a thermal paste. If there is no thermal paste the heatsink will not pull all of the heat from the CPU.

:thumbsup_anim: well, all your tips really helps.. I'm going to start buying

a new motherboard and thermal cooling paste, that's what I need for now.. When I'm holding the new Motherboard and my Old CPU, I must put my other hand to the metal case in order to discharge the static electricity, right? :icon_cool:

  4. The only time you will get thermal paste is when you buy a new CPU or heatsink. You will have to purchase that separate. Everything is pretty much just plug and play. A couple things to look out for is watch how you but your RAM and CPU in, they do only go in one way. On the CPU look for a little arrow in the corner of the CPU, there will also be a little arrow on the CPU socket. With the RAM, just make sure that the notch on the RAM lines up with the notch in the slot before you push down. There are several videos online.

thank you for this videos it helps a lot.. what about my cpu? will i encounter overheating because I didn't apply thermal cooling paste? It's Pentium D...

  5. Yeah, I kind of leave my forearm on the case. I had to use the straps when I was in school and I personally think they get in the way. In school I did a tear down and build in 16 minutes. LOL. For 3 months (Hardware Semester) we had to tear down and build our system every morning. It got so boring.

thanks for the replies guys. well this will be my first time to install a motherboard on my own because I'm only looking forward to the pci-e feature of the motherboards and its similarity specs with my old "mobo".. What will be the bad effects of transferring the parts of my old MOBO to the new MOBO like the processor, cpu fan, hard disk, ram, cd drives, modems etc.. what problems will i perhaps encounter? I also want to ask to some of you who already bought mobo on their own, Does new MOBO includes thermal cooling paste? if not, where is it included? is it necessary to apply new thermal cooling to the new MOBO? or i just install it as normal? :thumbsup_anim: :welcome: :sweatingbullets:

  6. Hi everyone. I'm planning to buy a new motherboard because my pc's motherboard doesn't have a pci-e slot and there's no agp8x videocard available in our market right now. I've read on some websites that electro static wrist strap is important when constructing a new pc. I will only buy a motherboard which is LGA 775 socket because my old motherboard is also using that socket. Is it a good idea that i will wrap my fingers with electrical tape as an alternate method using the electro static wrist strap because there is no electro static wrist strap available in our market.... another thing is that, can i use the old devices in my motherboard? such as DDR2 RAM, HDD, COMBO CD WRITER, PCI MODEM.. The motherboard that i will buy is just similar to my old but it has pci-e and it is new but it is still DDR2, ATX, and LGA 775 Socket.... Can i still use my old cpu? it's expensive to buy a new cpu.. Sir N1K and to all Members, I need your help..THANK YOU VERY MUCH :) :welcome: :thumbsup_anim: :sweatingbullets:

  7. i just want to ask if , do you know some programs that would force all my programs to use a proxy localhost or 127.0.0.1 port 8080 as a proxy to connect to the internet? i use jap/jondo as my ip hider and it uses port 8080 and localhost to be enable all the programs like firefox and internet explorer that has a manual proxy configuration to use jap/jondo.. thanks in advance....

  8. sorry men, I do not force you all to do my homework I'm just asking if someone is interested to do it for me. But, I'm sorry because I don't know the rules. Hope you forgive me all. :thumbsdown_anim: :crying_anim02: :crying_anim02:

  9. Till now i am using XP sp3. I once installed Vista but due to incompability and it's useless feature i again have to downgrade to XP.

I don't say vista is crap it's instant search and startmenu search was very good and wish microsoft to integrate this on XP in future SP. NOw i am using 3rd party software to get these stuffs

    using transformation pack could help.

  10. +1 N1K yes the best one, my choice too for years, it's a veeeery great tool and working on both Xp and Vista as well. Yeah it's actually a shareware but i think that the price is still reasonable for its awesome features imho, btw i and 9 other members just got the 2009 license legally for free (up to 3 personal computers for one license!) from a kind promo in Wincert here about 3 months ago, once again thank you so much N1K for that yeah :thumbsup_anim:

    Wincert and JV 16 FTW!

Oh, thank you very much. I'm going to try that one. :icon_cool:

  11. Yeah, It's possible all you to do this follow the Steps below.

    Customizing the keyboard :-

To get to the Customize Keyboard dialog box in Word, on the Tools menu, click Customize, and then click the Keyboard button at the bottom of the dialog box.

To make your own keyboard shortcuts, all you need to know is:

    * The name of the command you want to make a shortcut for. A command is a choice on a menu. For example, on the Format menu, some commands are Font, Paragraph, and Bullets and Numbering.

    * A key combination that you can remember, and that isn't already being used in Word. (Some key combinations are already assigned as shortcuts

  12. guys, do you know the trick in MS Word 2003 or 2007 that could change the shortcut keys in it? for example, the shortcut key for cut and paste is ctrl+x and ctrl+v. Now, I want to change the shortcut key for cut and paste on my own. Is it possible or not? :sweatingbullets: :sweatingbullets:

  13. Even if you use Windows 7 XP will still be relevant, my spanish XP rocks in Windows Virtual PC...its better than the XP that comes with XP Mode

Yeah, that's the main feature of Windows 7. But I'm still waiting for the release of Windows 7 here in the Philippines, If Windows 7 will be available here within this year, I'm going to use Windows 7 in Virtual PC with XP. ;) :icon_cool:

  14. Even though XP's GUI is a little bit old than Windows 7 and Vista, Still it offers all the needs of computer users, It has improved stability and performance when Service Pack 3 was released. Onepiece offers post update pack and it really helps XP to be more reliable and improved it's overall Performance.

Also, XP can be run on a less powerful PC than Vista. It only requires a minimum PC specs and that is why XP is mostly used by People.

Windows 7 in the case, Microsoft had really improved it rather than Vista. All the problems, bugs, instability, compatibility problems in Windows Vista has been fixed in Windows 7.

So I say, that Win 7 and XPSp3 is the best OS available from Microsoft right now.. :thumbsup_anim: :icon_cool:
