  1. Today, for the first time, MS Update was prompting for High Priority Update for:

    Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 ATL Update kb973923 - x86 8.0.50727.4053

    Since this is a rather old update (2009), I was wondering if it may be an issue

    related to your latest update. Is this normal or might something be amiss?

    This happens when you install (or integrate) an app that includes his own (older) VC8.

    In that case the last installed is detected by Microsoft Update as not secured.

    You can integrate such app before the VC++ Addon and MU will be satisfied.

    After first boot you can eventually remove the older VC version without any problem.

  2. Thanks for quick reply.

    Is Legacy runtimes necessary for a system which has "Microsoft Dotnet Framework AIO Addon - Net 1.1SP1 - 2.0SP2 - 3.0SP2 - 3.5SP1" ?

    Depends if you use older progs that use them and/or if you wish to have your system complete.

    Most frequent used runtimes are VC8+9 and future apps will use VC10.

    But this addon doesn't contein? Visual c++ 2005 SP1 v8.0.50727.4053

    (Only include vc 8,9,10)

    "Visual c++ 2005 SP1 v8.0.50727.4053" This is the VC8 runtime

  3. What is "Legacy" ?

    If this addon not all in one, can you make a addon "ALL IN ONE" all vc++ series? (from 2005 sp1 to c++ 2010 in the only one addon)

    This post contains 3 Addons:

    #1 silent SVCPACK VC8+9

    #2 silent SVCPACK VC10

    #3 True Addon Legacy VB+VC

    Legacy Runtimes are the older generation before dotNET2.0

    I can make an All in One (when I have some time)

    EDIT: YumeYao has posted an Addon with All VB+VC Runtimes:

    Find it here (last addon below):
