It's extremely slow as well as copying files through the network. They say that SP1 fixes it but it doesn't fix it, it just relieves some of the pain of it. That isn't even what bothers me the most. Download a .msu file once. When it gets to 99% it will sit there stalled for a couple minutes before it goes through it's copy process and completes. :ranting:
yep

I guess Vista copy isn't really fast as it seems to be. Check the screen shot I took today when I was copying 700 MB's in one file from PC to laptop..
bug.. they say that it'll be fixed w/ sp1 final

In a rather surprising move, Microsoft has released a 17-page document which outlines, in detail all changes in Vista SP1. Microsoft in the past released bits and pieces of what is expected in a Service Pack but this is the most complete change log released for a Service Pack.
Long Zhen highlighted some of the key changes and for those wanting the main of the main changes I bolded the best of the best:
[*]Adds support for new UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) industry standard PC firmware for 64-bit systems with functional parity with legacy BIOS firmware, which allows Windows Vista SP1 to install to GPT format disks, boot and resume from hibernate using UEFI firmware.
[*]Adds support for Direct3D

As you can see, the score isn't exactly the greatest, but upgrading from a 5 year old system, its a helluva difference
yeah, my comp score is 4.3

After who-knows-how-long, Yahoo! has a preview build to show for the time spent working on the new Vista YIM client. Mind you, this release is missing a lot of the bells and whistles present in the mainstream YIM builds, but that's what you deal with in a preview build with a completely new UI.
There are lots of cool things to look forward to in this build, though. For example, if you need to keep track of a few specific people, you can drag them onto the Windows Sidebar as opposed to keeping the contact list open. The rest of the features for you to mess around in are:
[*]Entirely new interface that harnesses the power of WPF, the graphics subsystem in Windows Vista
[*]Organize your conversations into tabs, or drag and drop a tab out to create a new window
[*]Keep up with your favorite contacts by dragging them into the Windows Sidebar gadget
[*]Send enhanced emoticons that have some extra oomph
[*]Change the color of your IM windows with a built-in skin chooser. Go crazy with a different skin for every IM window
[*]Adjust the display size of your contacts with a handy slider
[*]Arrange your contact list into multiple columns just by resizing your window
[*]Send instant messages to your Yahoo! and Windows Live Messenger contacts
[*]Send files to friends as large as 2 GB
[*]Find contacts quickly with the contact search bar. Type in a few letters of the contact

Recently, Microsoft rolled out the first release candidate version of Windows XP Service Pack 3 to some beta testers, and is now planning to roll out Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista next week.
And with all these, guess what? Microsoft is also going to release the first service pack for Office 2007. Amazing, isn
