dareckibmw reacted to abbodi1406 in [14 janvier 2020] Update list GDR pour Windows 7 SP1 x86/x64 (Fr-En-De-Es-It)
Yes, despite the supersedence, WU still asks for KB2533552 (as SP1 KB976932)
i was only refering to the condition of the update itself
amd we already know and experienced that WU request superseded updates sometimes

dareckibmw reacted to abbodi1406 in [14 janvier 2020] Update list GDR pour Windows 7 SP1 x86/x64 (Fr-En-De-Es-It)
No, it's not weird
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3057448
"The update is not applicable to your computer" error when you install Windows updates
Cause number 1: Update is superseded
KB3020369 fully and directly supersede KB2533552
thus, if KB3020369 is installed, KB2533552 cann't be installed using the .msu file
the workaround (that even WU use) is to use the inside .cab file to integrate the update online by dism tool:
dism /online /add-package:Windows6.1-KB2533552-x64.cab -

Sure, that would be great
If you're wondering why there's not many posts, it because I'm coming to the end of the year and have to finish the WTK report and other coursework. 2 more weeks and it's all over with and I can continue with the programming

Support for this version will end for sure, but we won't rush with the upgrade. We'll stick with this one for as long as we can..

dareckibmw reacted to bphlpt in How to avoid being "upgraded to Win 10" against your will?
This comes from our good friends over at MSFN. I felt this was an important enough issue to be quoted directly here. I would hope that Liam will make sure that Win Toolkit is set up such that users will not install these updates and/or share info back to MS unless that was indeed what they wanted and intended to do. Forewarned is forearmed!
Many thanks to NoelC for raising the issue and to dencorso for putting this summary together.
Cheers and Regards

Problem is already solved with the hint from abbodi1406, see posts #486 & #487.
On x64 was the sequence in WTK not correct, KB2670838 must be installed before KB2834140.
Have a nice weekend, before your hard work next week .

Since this issue has been reported by many people, both here and on other sites, I would assume that this is not anything that anyone is doing wrong, except MS. So I'd suggest only doing a deep clean before adding these troublesome updates, and not afterwards, at least this month. Hopefully, MS will straighten this mess out by next patch Tuesday, if not before. It seems that either the updates, and/or the deep cleaner app, needs an update. Just my opinion.
Cheers and Regards

Welcome in forum!
You should use as source a Win7-iso with SP1 already integrated, then you don't need to slipstream it !
Which language and version do you need?

dareckibmw reacted to mooms in Flash Player Plugins SFX & AddOn Maker
This script can make silent installers & nLite/RVMi AddOns for Adobe Flash Player ActiveX, NPAPI and PPAPI Plugins.
Why using this script instead of an already made addon/SFX?
No need to wait after someone to create/update addon/SFX (and downloading it on file sharing website with annoying ads & captchas). The script always download the latest version(s) available directly on Adobe servers. You are sure there is no adware/spyware inside.
Usage:
- Extract the content of the archive and run Flash_Maker.cmd
- The script will ask you which version(s) of Flash Player you want:
ActiveX is for Internet Explorer in Windows XP/Vista/7 NPAPI is for Firefox, Palemoon, and other browsers using Nestcape Plugin API. PPAPI is for Chromium, Opera, and other browsers using Pepper Plugin API. Internet Explorer in Windows 8/8.1/10 and Chrome have their own Flash Player Plugin embedded.
- Then it will download (in the download folder) the latest setup(s) from Adobe website and repack it (or them) into a silent installer (& AddOn) in the output folder.
Switches available:
-ai autoupdate disabled, autoupdate task deleted, autoupdate service uninstalled & deleted. -ai1 autoupdate disabled -ai2 autoupdate enabled If no switch is used, autoupdate is not configured (only check but ask for update, default behavior of Flash Player)
The silent installer can be used in any Windows version that is compatible with the originals setups.
If you also want to make an AddOn ( designed for RVMi & nLite ), you have to set a variable to 1 in the script (open it with Notepad).

dareckibmw reacted to compstuff in [Slim] .NET Framework 4.6.1 Full x86/x64 (2-27-2016)
Thanks guys this is truly an odd issue because it seems to make no logical sense... to clarify: I definitely have been able to download every other .exe from mediafire and all other hosting services with matching MD5's , I have been updating all my exe tools like KUC, WHD, SFX makers including your new Java tool Mooms with no issues at all. I ran Malwarebytes and a few other tools that all came up clean. I must have tried at least 20+ times and could never get a correct MD5
I just ran the latest KUC against my system and updated everything, updated to the latest Flash and Shockwave, ran Rick's latest VBCFJRedist_AIO_x86_x64, cleaned my temp folders and of course rebooted quite a few times and just tried the download 2x with SUCCESS!!!
I can't begin to guess at which item "potentially" fixed this or what was the actual "cause & effect" here to resolve the issue.

dareckibmw reacted to mooms in Java Multi Maker
Version 2.3 of the script is on the first post.
What's new:
After some researches, I've found a way to extract the x86 MSI with ResourcesExtract: the x86 setup is compressed with UPX, once uncompressed the MSi can be extracted without launching the setup first, like the old Java setup (x64 setup is not compressed with UPX).
Now the maker behave like in v1.x:
That eliminate the need to run the script as admin, and the bug with the auto uninstallation.
That means both issues mentioned by Himan and Thiersee are now fixed !
I've also found that creating an admin install point is not needed anymore.
Bonus: it is now possible to create the x64 & dual installers on x86 Windows.

dareckibmw reacted to bphlpt in UpdateLists info
@chytrusek,
The issue is not whether SP1 is installed or not. The reason there is a big difference in the number of updates available from Windows Update vs Alphawaves Downloader is that Alphawaves includes all the updates from Windows Update, the ones dareckibmw refers to as "official updates", PLUS updates that are normally "request only hotfixes", usually meant to solve specific problems and not usually offered to the general public.
In the old days, back when MS continued to offer Service packs for their OS, those request only updates would eventually be incorporated into a SP or roll-up along with the standard updates from Windows Update after MS had performed additional testing to ensure compatibility with existing systems generally available. Since MS no longer does that, it is up to you to decide whether you "want" those extra updates to get the latest versions of all the software components involved vs "risk" using updates that your particular system might not "need" based on your actual system use and hardware and other software you have installed. I, and many others, prefer the "be prepared" approach figuring that if MS has determined that an update solves a particular problem, then I want that update too so that just in case I am ever in that same situation then that potential problem will already be addressed. I have never had a problem created by taking this approach. dareckibmw, and many others, take the more "minimalist" approach figuring that MS has not determined that everyone needs those extra updates, so why increase the size of their installed OS and add more code complexity that is meant to address situations that they will probably never be in. Of course you could also take a modified approach of downloading the complete list, but not using the updates that definitely don't apply to your needs such as extra languages or whatever, but since many system components interact in not so obvious ways, that takes more knowledge and research on your part to do that successfully. That is also why I choose to not remove any system components, as some other folks do, but rather just disable the services and components that I don't need. You just have to choose which approach fits your needs best.
As I said above, in all cases I am aware of, the update lists are meant for systems that already have SP1 installed or included in your install source.
Cheers and Regards
