I have set the '/y' switch, but still the installation isn't silent. Tested it on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and x86
-
Everything working fine now, except for one thing.
My silent install for dotnetfx isn't working, the installation isn't silent and during the installation I get different errors.
After the other silent installs are finished and the pc booted into Windows I can run the installation with silent command from CMD without any problems.
How to fix this?

Test 7: Now it should be fixed

v4.3.3 sorry.
P.S. If anyone else wants to download this update and test the silent installs or just to have the latest version, feel free
Need to make a new installation, I think I corrupted my image. I hope I can try this new version this evening!

4.3.3 is, which im uploading for you now...
But yes, your current install has 4.2.1.0 whilst your image will have 4.3.1.0
Ok. Will include 4.3.3 on the same way I did with 4.3.1.0! Thanks!

The only thing i can imagine causing that is either you didn't click save or you have the mount folder open whilst it was unmounting
I'm assuming your on about Windows after installation.
P.S. I've fixed the file open - security warning prompt, cant release a test version until i fix a current issue.
Think you didn't understand me.
I checked the file version of W7TRunOnce.exe on my laptop (C:\Windows\System32) (which I installed with my USB-stick last week), the version of that file is 4.2.1.0
Than I opened my USB-Stick (which contains the installation) and I mounted my installation (C:\W7T\Mount\Windows\Systems32), checked the W7TRunOnce.exe in that folder, which is showing me version 4.3.1.0. So when I rebuild the image the new version 4.3.1.0 should be included in my installation?
Next question: Is 4.3.10 the newest RunOnce at the moment?

They're supposed to install after the Windows installation.
If i remember correctly, you can just mount the image and then unmount it (save) straight after and it will replace the RunOnce.exe with the latest.
I mounted my image with Windows 7 Toolkit build 1.4.0.12 by Opening WIM Manager, location my USB-stick, clicking on Mount. The mounted system is saved to C:\W7T\Mount.
I opened C:\W7T\Mount\Windows\System32 en check the file version for W7TRunOnce.exe, it's showing me 4.3.1.0. Is this the newest version?
Then I unmounted the image, so now version 4.3.1.0 should be included in my USB-stick?
When I open C:\Windows\System32 en check the file version for W7TRunOnce.exe, it's showing me 4.2.1.0.So this should mean a new version is added to my USB-Stick?

Tweaks>IE<Disable signature checking for EXEs should prevent this
Thanks will try!

Update: I've just added code which detects a shutdown and then aborts it
Haven't had the change to test it in the RunOnce environment
Thanks will test it!
Did you read my message on the previous page? With some silent installs windows is asking me if I'm sure to open the exe file.
Something like this window is shown:
So, the installation is not completely silent, first I need to click run before the installation continues.
Can you do something about this?

Yes, I know.
But you said you changed RunOnce, to prevent windows from shutting down after the installation of my piece of software I can't talk about (if you know what I mean) was finished. But my PC rebooted after finishing that piece of software, after the reboot it was installing my silent installs (as it should), but that reboot in between shouldn't be there.
I'll try to add the latest RunOnce.exe in my installation and I'll let you know!
-
Just used my USB stick to reinstall my computer. Before the silent installs are starting, my pc rebooted. But this time in stead of skipping the silent install, they were installed after my pc rebooted. You now how to fix this?
Can you provide us the new RunOnce maybe, so we don't need to remake the whole install?
-
One thing.
Not all 'silent installs' are completely silent.
For some exe files Windows is asking if I'm sure to open them. Is there something I can do about this?
EDIT:
At the end of the silent install progres, I get a popup 'Runonce is about the restart your computer' with a countdown. But it doesn't restart my computer!

Nice, Windows 7 Toolkit Installer 4.2.1 is running! It's installing all my silent installs. WORKING PERFECTLY!
-
Right now I'm installing a fresh build on my laptop, created with W7T v1.4.0.7!
-
Have you tried the new RunOnce?
Not yet, I hope I can try it tomorrow!
-
I've just completely reprogrammed W7TRunOnce installer in C# for v1.4.0.1 this should fix both of your problems.
Thank you for all your time and effort!
-
they work the same
In 5 minutes or so, you'll have a private message with the asked files!
-
Hopefully the alpha build with error logging will find the issue
Can you please open your image with WIM Registry Editor, load 'Software', export HKLM\\WIM_Software\\W7T key and send me it please?
and also take a print screen of your dvd/usb root?
From which version? My 'problematic' version or the one made with the alpha version off W7T?
-
Just reinstalled my laptop with my USB-stick. I removed all the ATTRIB commands (so the apps folders wasn't a system folder). But, the silent installs weren't working..
I'm going to make a new installation with the alpha version of W7T. I'll keep you updated!
-
W7TRunOnce.exe version numer on my laptop is also 3.2.0.0!
-
I've sent you a personal message with a link to the latest alpha, the RunOnce file in this version writes logs, hopefully this will see what it happening
Thanks, will try as soon as possible!
-
The only thing i can think of that can affect it is the attribute settings (system + hidden).
EDIT: I'll do some testing and get back to you.
I try to make some time this week, to reinstall my laptop without the attrib commands, I'll get back to you also!
Thanks already, for your time!

Hmm, that's the latest version for the v102 build. It's a bit strange why it would work in VMWare but not a live PC :/
Sad news. So, there's nothing I can do about this?
-
Preferably the laptop
Check it in VMWare (on my PC), it says version '3.2.0.0'.
It should be the same on my laptop I guess, because I didn't change anything to my USB-stick.
[Solved + Merged] Silent Installer Issues
in Win Toolkit

I'm going to try to set the switches with SFXMaker and after that integrate the silent installs with WinKit without adding the switches again.
EDIT
This method is working perfectly!
