    Here is what I am talking about, this is slimmed based on your installer, I rebuilt common.cab and the embedded product.cab's in each MSI installer... Then finally I replaced the ones in the original installer with those I rebuilt

    Download: http://adf.ly/1713566/vboxrpck
    MD5: 8cdb56d006f1874fc318d1a09bfe1678
    Size: 83.7 MB

    I hope you don't feel like I am stepping on your toes here, I of course will provide to you how I did this. Maybe you can use this to take your repacking skills a bit further

    Tools:

    http://xp.xpdnc.org/files/msi_vbs_examples.zip (Optional)https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56155351/Tools/MsiTran.Exe (Optional)https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56155351/Tools/vbox.7zMakeCab     (comes with Windows)InstEdRestorator 2007 MSI Instructions:
    - Extract VirtualBox installer files

    <installer>.exe -extract -path .\- Edit the MSI to make slim or apply the MST with InstEd or MsiTran (Note: I also remove vc2k10 runtimes)
    MsiTran.exe -a <mst_name>.mst <x86_and_or_amd64>.msi- Do an admin install of both MSI's, now copy common.DDF into ANYONE of the admin install location and rebuild common.cab
    makecab.exe /f common.DDF- Do the same to rebuild product.cab's (use 32 DDF for x86 and 64 for amd64)- Now we will add the product.cab back into the MSI, you can use InstEd but I prefer

    WiStream.vbs <msi_name>.msi product.cab- With InstEd change the admin install MSI's Sumary Information from Admin External. Long filenames to Compressed. Long filenames, you can also use this VBS command
    WiSumInf.vbs <msi_name>.msi Words=2EXE Instructions:Now that we have both installers repacked with none of the stuff we removed, we need to add them back into the EXE... You can simply open the original VirtualBox installer EXE in Restorator 2007, copy the files from within Windows Explorer and paste them into the RCData BIN's, but I rather add them to a RES file, then apply the res file with Restorator because the EXE date does not change and you wont get those ugly shortcut icons that Restorator leaves behind

    - Open provided RES file with Restorator 2007
    - In Windows Explorer copy (Ctrl+C) x86 MSI and paste (Ctrl+V) in RCData -> BIN_00
    - Do the same for x64 MSI (BIN_01) and common.cab (BIN_02) and save RES
    - Now open VirtualBox installer with Resource Hacker, now choose Action -> Update all Resources (apply the RES file)
    - Save and you are DONE!!!

    Bonus:
    If you are wondering how to get the DDF, you can open the MSI in InstEd, go to Media, right click on CAB and choose Show ddf, I prefer to use

    WiMakCab.vbs <msi_name>.msi cabname /LIf I use WiMakCab.vbs I have to edit it a littleEdit: I just realized its easier for you to rebuild/embed the CAB's, just open your MSI in InstEd, go to Media, right click on CAB and choose Rebuild selected CAB
    Edit2: You can also save space if you remove the linux and os2 stuff from VBoxGuestAdditions.iso (28MB after removal)

    Ali Sahandi reacted to *Reaper* in WinRAR - v5.20
    WinRAR

    Description
    WinRAR is a powerful archive manager. It can backup your data and reduce the size
    of email attachments, decompress RAR, ZIP and other files downloaded from Internet
    and create new archives in RAR and ZIP file format.

    Changelog: Version 5.20 1. If Windows User Account Control prevents extracting or archiving commands to create files in system protected folders, WinRAR attempts to start its another copy with administrator privileges to complete the operation. It is necessary to confirm privileges elevation in response to User Account Control prompt to allow such second WinRAR copy to run. 2. You can drag files in Explorer with right mouse button, drop them to some folder and select WinRAR archiving commands in context menu to create an archive with these files in the destination folder. 3. It is possible to use WinRAR.ini file instead of Registry to store WinRAR settings. You may prefer such approach if you plan to install WinRAR to removable media, such as USB flash drive, and then run it on different computers. See "WinRAR.ini file" topic in "Configuration settings" chapter of WinRAR help for details. 4. Added extraction support for ZIP and ZIPX archives using XZ compression algorithm. 5. If ZIP or ZIPX archive contains any compression algorithms except usual "Store" or "Deflate", algorithm names are displayed in "Version to extract" field of archive information dialog. Algorithms with names unknown to WinRAR will be assigned "m<num>" name, where "num" is a compression algorithm numeric identifier. 6. "Open with WinRAR" command is available in Windows context menus for archive formats supported by WinRAR. It can be turned off with "Open with WinRAR (for usual archives)" option in WinRAR "Settings/Integration/Context menu items..." dialog. 7. Command line RAR can read the default set of switches from rar.ini file stored in RAR program folder. Previously it was possible to define only the same set of switches for all RAR command with "switches=<switches>" string. Now rar.ini also allows to specify separate switch sets for individual RAR commands using the following syntax: switches_<command>=<any RAR switches, separated by spaces> For example: switches_a=-m5 -s switches_x=-o+ 8. Command "ch" supports switches -tl, -cu, -cl also for ZIP archives. Previously "ch" allowed these switches only for RAR archive format. 9. For archive formats lacking file time information, such as .bz2, .xz and .Z, WinRAR sets container archive modification time to extracted files. It does not apply to tar.bz2, tar.xz and tar.Z, which use file time stored in tar headers. 10. "Keep broken files" extraction option is supported for bzip2 archives. 11. WinRAR icon in Windows context menus is scaled up correctly in high DPI screen modes such as 150% or 200% of normal text size. 12. It is possible to disable WinRAR "Benchmark" command with "Benchmark" variable of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WinRAR\Policy Registry key. In multi-user environment "Benchmark" command might abuse shared computational resources. See "Registry variables" topic in "Configuration settings" chapter of WinRAR help for more details. 13. Additionally to "sfxcmd" variable containing the entire command line, SFX module sets "sfxpar" variable containing command line parameters only, without leading SFX module name. These variables are set before starting a program specified in "Setup" command. 14. File overwrite prompt in console RAR displays the size and modification time for existing and new files. 15. When archiving from stdin with -si switch, RAR sets the current system time to modification time of archived file. Previous version did not set this time at all. 16. It is possible to use -si and -v<size> switches together. Previous versions did not allow to create volumes when archiving from stdin. 17. Warning is issued when starting unpacking 4 GB or larger file from RAR or ZIP archive to FAT32 patition, so user may cancel the operation. FAT32 does not support files of such size. Also this warning is issued when starting to create RAR archive with "Store" (-m0) method if estimated archive size is 4 GB or more. 18. "Select all" button in "Settings/Integration" dialog is renamed to "Toggle all". Now it deselects archive formats if all they are already selected. 19. "Delete archive" extraction option correctly removes all .zip and .7z volumes. Previously it removed only the first volume in the set for these archive formats.Version: 5.20Addon Release Date: December 3, 2014

    Ali Sahandi reacted to gippetto in A small, as I can, complete step-by-step guide to WinToolkit
    Updated December 14, 2014
    (Just after the Patch Tuesday 12/9/2014)
    A small as I can complete step-by-step guide to:
    WinToolkit
    As I did not found a truly comprehensive guide to this fantastic tool, I took the time to write a brand new one.
    First, as I’m not that deep in all the staff and as I’m not an English mother language I would accept any kindly correction you would provide to me. I’m considering this a work in progress.
    Second, I’m aware that I made some choices here that are personal ones, please don’t hung me on those ones.
    What was the goal of the job
    Create AIO ISOs customized with multiple languages integrated and with all updates integrated.
    What I used to get the job done
    Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8.1 update 1 original ISOs.
    As I’m Italian and I have MSDN subscription I used those ones:
    For Windows 7 SP1:

    x86it_windows_7_professional_with_sp1_x86_dvd_u_677088it_windows_7_enterprise_with_sp1_x86_dvd_u_677749x64it_windows_7_professional_with_sp1_x64_dvd_u_676945it_windows_7_enterprise_with_sp1_x64_dvd_u_677660

    and the Language packs and Local Packs

    Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit
    http://www.microsoft.com/it-it/download/details.aspx?id=39982
    with two option Distribution Tools and Windows PE environment.

    WinToolkit

    Windows Updates Downloader
    http://www.windowsupdatesdownloader.com/ProgramFiles.aspx

    as preferred tools to download the updates because it downloads them and preserve their creation timestamp and organize them in a more suitable fashion.
    For Windows 8.1 update 1 I also downloaded and used
    Script tool from abbodi1406
    http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/48600-Add-Multilingual-Support-to-Windows-8-1-Setup-DVD-automated-batch-script

    Abbodi1406 script works only with Windows 8.1 update 1 images.
    Organization
    I made a structured folders system: one for Windows 7 SP1 and another for Windows 8.1 update 1

    Windows 7 SP1

    Windows 8.1 update 1

    I will go deep into them, as I will describe the process but take this as fundamental: organization is most the important thing.
    Create AIO x86 and x64
    I unzipped ISO files with 7-zip and created two set of AIO one for x86 and one for x64 systems.
    Here you have sample snapshots of the process:

    Then I named the folders this way:

    For now on I did a parallel two processes of integration for x86 AIOs and x64 AIOs.
    Integrate Languages
    Windows 7 SP1
    I extracted the Language Pack and the Local Pack from the ISOs and started the integration of them with WinToolkit All-In-One Integrator.

    I did it for AIO x86 and the AIO x64.
    Windows 8.1 update 1
    I used abbodi1406 script to integrate languages and Microsoft .Net 3.5 into Windows 8.1 update 1 images.
    Here is the sample of the organization of the folders and the script:

    For sure I did one folder and one script for each set: x86 and x64
    Integrate IE11 (only Windows 7 SP1)
    I used WinToolkit All-In-One Integrator.

    Prerequisites files

    http://www.wincert.net/forum/topic/11582-internet-explorer-11-for-windows-7-is-out/

    This is the full list and the exact order in which you should integrate the updates for x64 images:
    x64 system updates are the same of the x86 system updates, you can therefore get the x86 list on your own.

    Integrate the updates
    I downloaded the updates using Windows Updates Downloader and getting the last definition ULs here:
    http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/10872-Windows-Updates-Downloader-Project/page11?p=224955&viewfull=1#post224955
    I’ve got some updates directly using Microsoft Update Catalog:
    https://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx
    Windows 7 SP1
    I organized the updates in 8 subdirectories.

    I used WinToolkit All-In-One Integrator.

    It’s important to import the updates within each folder in chronological order.
    You can do this in one step only.
    This is the full list and the exact order in which you should integrate the updates for x64 images.
    As x64 system updates are the same of the x86 system updates with the only exception of the KB2506014 update that applies only to x64 systems, you can therefore get the x86 list on your own.

    Let me say something about the cab files.
    I discovered that some updates won’t integrate if you do not postpone their integration and you do not unzip them and integrate only the .cab file within the .msu file.
    That's the magic trick to get the job done.
    Windows 8.1 update 1
    I organized the updates in 8 subdirectories.

    I used WinToolkit All-In-One Integrator.

    It’s important to import the updates within each folder in chronological order.
    This is the full list and the exact order in which you should integrate the updates for x64 images:
    x64 system updates are the same of the x86 system updates with the only exception of the KB2973448 update that applies only to x64 systems, you can therefore get the x86 list on your own.

    Integrate the Complements and the Tweaks (optional)
    Even if WinToolkit has an embedded RunOnce tool I still like much more the SetupComplete.cmd way to get the job finished.
    This step is optional but I recommend it.
    Windows 7 SP1
    As Windows 7 SP1 needs some components to be installed at the end of the installation and because Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5.2 is not included, actually, you should go through this step.
    I will give you a sample of how you can setup this stage but, for sure, you can customize it as you want.
    This is how I setup the Complements and Tweaks folders.

    This is the SetupComplete.cmd script I'm suggesting:

    @echo offdel /q "%USERPROFILE%\DESKTOP\*.lnk"del /q "%PUBLIC%\DESKTOP\*.lnk"start /wait %SystemDrive%\x64\DOTNET\BASE\NDP452-KB2901907-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU.exe /qstart /wait %SystemDrive%\x64\DOTNET\BASE\NDP452-KB2901907-x86-x64-AllOS-ITA.exe /qstart /wait %SystemDrive%\x64\DOTNET\UPDATES\NDP45-KB2972216-x64.exe /qstart /wait %SystemDrive%\x64\DOTNET\UPDATES\NDP45-KB2972107-x64.exe /qstart /wait %SystemDrive%\x64\DOTNET\UPDATES\NDP45-KB2979578-v2-x64.exe /qstart /wait %SystemDrive%\x64\DOTNET\UPDATES\NDP45-KB2978128-x64.exe /qstart /wait %SystemDrive%\x64\EXE\Silverlight-x64.exe /qstart /wait %SystemDrive%\x64\MSU\Windows6.1-KB2533552-x64.msu /quiet /norestartstart /wait %SystemDrive%\x64\MSU\Windows6.1-KB2603229-x64.msu /quiet /norestartstart /wait %SystemDrive%\x64\EXE\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x64.exe /quiet /norestartren %SystemDrive%\x64\INSTALL-COMPLETE.ln_ INSTALL-COMPLETE.lnkcopy %SystemDrive%\x64\INSTALL-COMPLETE.lnk %PUBLIC%\DESKTOP\INSTALL-COMPLETE.lnkshutdown -r -f -t 10
    This script must be imported in: %SystemDrive%\Windows\Setup\Scripts
    To implement this script I used WinToolkit All-In-One Integrator.

    and exacly this one:

    This will import x64 folder inside the complements one in the root of the system drive.
    For sure you need to organize a x64 and x86 folders with all needed.
    To get the job done smoothly I did a trick.
    I created a link on the desktop to point the SetupComplete01.cmd file into the CMD folder named INSTALL-COMPLETE.lnk and renamed it INSTALL-COMPLETE.ln_ to have the file imported.
    As you can see in the SetupComplete.cmd the last two commands rename back the file and put it on the desktop to have a simple link to the SetupComplete01.cmd that provides this final commands:

    @echo offreg delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run /v BrowserChoice /fdel /q %PUBLIC%\DESKTOP\*.lnkdel /q %USERPROFILE%\DESKTOP\*.lnkrd /s /q %SystemDrive%\Windows\Setup\Scripts\shutdown -r -f -t 10rd /s /q %SystemDrive%\x64\
    This will clean up everything you have to clean up and ends smoothly the installation.
    I also did this tweaks configuration too:

    Windows 8.1 update 1
    You can go alongside with Windows 7 sample.
    From now on the schema of the steps it’s the same for Windows 7 and Windows 8 so I will give only one sample of it.
    Clean up the images (optional)
    If you want, you can go one step forward and clean up all the images one by one. It’s a boring job but at the end you can have AIO ISOs files lighter of about 1 GB at least.
    These snapshots will give you how to do this job.
    You will start with WIM Manager

    You will mount the image you want to shrink

    You will launch the Cleanup Manager

    You will flag all

    You will go with Clean

    You will have all cleaned

    Then you will unmount the image.

    Then if you are going to do the same cleaning for other images you will simple save changes

    If it’s the latest image you have cleaned up you will save and rebuild.

    Create WINAIO x86 and x64
    Now you’re done the full job and ready to create your ISO.
    If you want a full x86 and x64 AIO you will first go with:

    And you will create you WINAIO x86 and x64 folder

    Finally, you can create your ISO

    The job is done!

    P.S.You can accomplish the same kind of job using the same pattern for Windows Server 2008 R2 alongside with Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2012 R2 alongside with Windows 8.1 as they have each other most of the updates in common.

    # Integrating SxS 2008/2005 addons require launching Wintoolkit with TrustedInstaller privileges, to gain write access to WinSxS directory
    for that, you need to use NSudo (or other similar tools):
    - download and extract latest release Binary.zip
    - launch Win32\NSudo.exe or x64\NSudo.exe, or run NSudo.bat as administrator
    - make sure User is set to TrustedInstaller
    - check "Enable All Privileges"
    - paste Wintoolkit.exe path in the lower box (or Browse to the file)
    - click run
    if you are using Windows 7 Simplix Update Pack, you don't need that, it already handle the required privileges
    # vcredist_x64_Win7 / vcredist_x86_Win7 is AIO addon, mainly to be used with Simplix Update Pack, or else you need Wintoolkit with NSudo
    # VC++ 2022 runtimes are binary compatible and upgrade to VC++ 2015-2017-2019 and cover all VS 2015-2017-2019-2022 programs
    # To complete VC++ 2022 functions for Windows 7/8.1, you need to integrate Universal CRT components, which is available with latest Monthly Rollup, or updates KB3118401/KB2999226

    The best of using the Silent Installer option.

    Yeah, that's pretty much how you do it.  Once exported, just add that reg file to Addon Maker and it should do everything else on its own.

    I don't tend to make addons. There's a small team of people who makes addons.

    This tool lets you create addons for Windows 7 Toolkit, this tool has a lot of potential, more than people realize! Used correctly, this tool can have your progams pre-installed after Windows installation.
    This tool is the most complex, but you becomes very easy to use ones you get your head around it but this is not for the faint hearted. So good luck!
    Note: I will only be covering the basics!
    Info

    This is one of the easier screens and is pretty self explanatory and i'm pretty sure you can figure this out.
    Files

    This will copy file to the mounted wim image when someone adds this addon. So go ahead and click 'Add Files' at the bottom.
    1. Click the folder button and browse to the file you wish to copy.
    2. Select the destination, you can choose to a pre-defined area and then add '\\filenameyouwant.exe'
    You can also type it in manually like 'C:\Windows\System32\RunOnce.exe' but you would not type the beginning 'C:\' so it would be 'Windows\System32\RunOnce.exe'
    Folder

    Same as above, select the folder you wish to have installed and then select where you want the folder to go.

    Add any *.reg files you wish to have installed or required for your addons, some users use a program like InstallWatch which tells you what registry/file changes where made to your computer during an installation. You then export the registry changes and import them here.
    Delete Files

    Type in the location of the file you need deleting for example 'Windows\System32\Example.exe'
    Shortcuts

    This is where you can create shortcuts for the program you made. You can just copy and paste a pre-existing shortcut from an installation in the 'File' tab and tell it where it needs to go i.e. Desktop.
    You don't need to use 'Icon' if the exe you pointed too already has one. Also 'Arguments' is mostly left blank as you don't need anything like /s /q /quiet, etc..
    Commands

    This is for commands which you want to run after Windows has been installed.
    It doesn't seem like it has alot of potential but trust me it does! Used correctly, you can do anything with this tool.
    As mentioned above you can use InstallWatch to record what an installation does, so that you can use that information to make an addon which then has that program pre-installed when you have Windows installed.
    Any questions about this tool (not bugs) just post in here and i will try to reply.

    I am having trouble installing Installwatch. Whenever I run the setup file I get am error saying "Unable to execute. "C:\Users\Sean\AppData\Local\Temp\pft1~tmp\SETUP.EXE" /SMS" Then I click on the ok button and get the dialog box saying "Package for the web error. Unable to execute the specified command line!" I took ownership of the file and have full rights but it's still not working. Any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance. BTW, I am running Vista Ultimate 32. Thanks again. Sean

    Requirements: 7zip
    I recommend using InstallWatch as it records what new registry entries there is and also which files have been modified.
    Every .WA needs a tasks.txt file within it so W7T knows what to do with it, an example is below:
    Make a folder i.e. D:\Addon
    Step 1: Tasks.txt

    Name=Mozilla Firefox
    Creator=Legolash2o
    Version=3.0.6
    Arc=x86
    Description=Open Source internet browser.

    [CopyFolder]
    Mozilla Firefox::Program Files

    [CopyFile]
    Mozilla Firefox.lnk::Users\Public\Desktop
    Mozilla Firefox.lnk::ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

    Name
    This is the name of the program or addon
    Creator
    Your name or the maker of the addon
    Version
    The version of the program/addon you are making
    Arc
    Which version of the program you are making their are only 3 choices
    x86 - These addon will work on both x86 and x64 images, if it is integrated into x64 it will put the files in folders like "Program Files (x86)" or "SysWOW64".
    x86! - x86 only
    x64 - x64 only
    Build (Optional)
    This will only let you install the addon on certain versions of windows i.e. 7068. This is useful for patches like Themes.
    Build=7000! *Build 7000 only
    Build=7000 *Build 7000 or newer
    Website (Optional)
    When the addon is double clicked in the list, it will open the website specified
    Step 2: Copying Folders

    [CopyFolder]
    Mozilla Firefox::Program Files

    This is easy...
    name of folder::where to put it
    Mozilla Firefox will be copied into Program Files folder.
    Put Mozilla Firefox folder in your root addon folder (D:\Addon)
    Step 3: Copying Files

    [CopyFile]
    Mozilla Firefox.lnk::Users\Public\Desktop
    Mozilla Firefox.lnk::ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

    Put Mozilla Firefox.lnk in your root addon folder (D:\Addon)
    Also easy....
    name of file including extension (.exe, .lnk, whatever):: folder to put it in
    Firefox links will be copied to both Desktop and Start Menu
    Step 3: Registry Entries
    Just simply copy the exported .reg file into the root folder of the addon (D:\Addon)
    Note: You may want to clean the registry file and remove entries like your name, serial codes, temp stuff like MuiCache and sometimes there is a really long entry and i mean long, remove that too!
    Normal Registry File

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\1]
    "Example"="This is an example string"
    "Example2"=dword:00000001

    Delete Key (Note they hyphen (-) before HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\)

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\1]
    "Example"="This is an example string"
    "Example2"=dword:00000001
    Delete Value (Note the hyphen (-) after the equals sign(=))

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\1]
    "Example"="This is an example string"
    "Example2"=-

    Step 4: Creating the addon file (.WA)
    Using the example above you should have something similar to...
    D:\Addon
    D:\Addon\Mozilla Firefox\ (with firefox files within it)
    D:\Addon\Mozilla Firefox.lnk (shortcut)
    D:\Addon\Tasks.txt
    D:\Addon\Example.reg (optional)
    Simply highlight all the files in the folder, right-click, 7zip > Add to Archive
    Once its open change .7z to .WA make sure its on Ultra compression and click OK
    Tasks.txt Example
    7zip x64

    Name=7-zip
    Creator=Legolash2o
    Version=4.65
    Arc=x64
    Description=7-Zip is an open source file archiver designed originally for Microsoft Windows. Blah.

    [CopyFolder]
    7-Zip::Program Files

    - The addon will conflict with some Windows Updates (.NET 3.5 Family), so leave the addon's integration to the last.
    - Add main addon first before LangPack addon, to get ASP.NET service localization properly.
    - To function properly, .NET 4.7.x require D3DCompiler_47.dll component, which is found in either the current "Monthly Quality Rollup" or "update KB4019990". It is recommended to integrate it first, or you can install it later.

    Description of CCleaner
    CCleaner is a freeware system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool.
    It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster
