  1. I don't think it was mentioned. Liam has updated WTK to v. 1.5.4.12.

I was getting backup files on my desktop for exe files I had placed there such as teamviewer as an example. I see Liam removed the backups option in the AIO. He said it was useless. There are some other changes (see the changelog).

Its on the test build as well as the public sites...

    fyi...

    Good if it works!

For KB2685811/813: no idea...but you know I install in two steps: 1 step only updates, 2nd step all other stuff.

For the other bug: no idea too.

thiersee I took 2685811/13 as per the tutorial and took them from silent list and put them in the update list. they are the last two entries. Now WU does NOT ask for them and a deep clean DOES show them uninstalled. As of this this test I have no KB's in silent. I don't know if this is a bug but it seems to work for me. When I initially add all the updates (convenience method) updates 2603229, 3046269 and 3177467 come up as problem updates (normal). I check all three to go to silent list. I then go to the silent list and remove them. However they still get integrated after the monthly quality rollup. I watch the bottom of the wtk screen and see them getting integrated even though I removed them. This works out perfectly because I tried a test where I did not include them at all in the update list and WU called for them.

I also emailed Liam and posed the above possible bug or my lack of knowledge scenario to him. Still awaiting that reply.  He did reply back about that .bak file issue. It was being caused because in the OPTIONS list I had CREATE BACKUPS checked. I unchecked it and now perfect. FYI.....

    Not from ricktend (yet).

    You can try this one:

Netfx47_Slim (for EN you need only the first!): https://www.win-unattended.de/app.php/dlext/?view=detail&df_id=92

    Not yet tested by me.

thiersee it seems to have worked like a charm.:D. You da man!:P However, kb2685811 is now being asked by WU. According to WU 2685811 is a RECOMMENDED update and 2685813 is IMPORTANT. The only 2 kb's in my silent list are 2685811 and 2685813 at the top of the silent list. I watched the entire VM install because of the framework 4.7 and 2685811 did get installed. This happens (sometimes) even before your helpful NFW 4.7.02 file. Any ideas?

lastly another small bug I found is the when I have WTK to place files on my desktop I get duplicates white icon .BAK files also placed there. I check the box in wtk to replace. just curious.

    Again:

it is NOT for Windows, it's for NET-FW !

You'll never get it with the ULs in convenience-files, only KB4019990 & KB4040980!

Either you download KB4041083 (actually it's KB4040973) in WU and install it or you take a NET-FW-Repack, having those Updates built in.

After that you get the request for KB4043766.

ok understood about its not a win ul update. I am using ricktendo's 7_23_17 repack. Is there a later one with the updates built-in?

This is the part for NET-FW 4.7!

    KB4041083 (september) is a rollup and contains a part for NET-FW 3.5.1 (KB4040980), a part for NET-FW 4.5 (not of interest), a part for NET-FW 4.7 (KB4040973) and, last but not least, KB4019990.

If one of this parts is missing you get the request for KB4041083, but with the size of the missing part.

With KB4043766 (october) is the same story, only the part for NET-FW 4.7 is KB4043764.

So you need to install KB4041083 and after that you'll be requested for KB4043766.

thiersee nfw 4.7 was integrated in my silent list (7_23_17) and in my vm its in programs and features so it did get installed. in wtk updates on my list are 4019990 and 4040980. if you are saying I need 4041083 it did not DL with oct. convenience files. I also do not see 4043766.

  6. minor issue last month and now October. kb2533552 somehow finds its way into my NEW FOLDER (where I extract a win 7 iso) in the wintoolkit apps folder. :o Its not in my silent list nor in my updates list. when the screen comes up with the 4 problem updates I check all 4 and they go to my silent list. I then delete all 4 of them. I just double checked both lists. the only one that goes in the wintoolkit apps folder is 2533552. I have to go to that folder and delete it. No comprende:blink:

Before the upgrade to 3.X that took place almost two years ago this forum was using subscriptions. The forum was always free, but one could subscribe and become a sponsor. Once a member selected one of the available packages Paypal has automatically created a recurring payment profile. We haven't had many subscription packages active in the past and most were canceled or became inactive several years ago. Two subscription packages remained active though and were closed this year (bphlpt and pennsylvaniaron).

pennsylvaniaron probably had a serious amnesia and forgot that he was the one who chose to subscribe and donate $10 to support the forum :). With the upgrade to IPS 3.x, subscriptions module was removed from the forum and we had to implement a sidebar donate button.

I have now checked for active supporters and I have removed katie-joy, Cartman586 and BYTE-ME from the sponsors' group as there is no recorded subscription for those users. Although, we also had the policy for the users who have donated to Liam (WinToolkit Developer). Those users also became sponsors even though they haven't donated to the forum directly.

So, to conclude bphlpt and pennsylvaniaron (both canceled packages this year, but remained active), and Thiersee who is donating via international transfer using an IBAN account, are the only current supporters of this forum.

If you want, I can send those donations to you Jan.

    @Thiersee

Thanks for your generous support and contribution for all these years. I kindly ask you to send the next donation to Jan Krohn.

Nim it wasn't a "serious amnesia". Between entertainment, aviation, automotive and computer technology to name a few I belong to over 15 forums. sorry if I forgot that I get charged ONCE A YEAR for $10. In addition I was having some serious CC issues with suspicious charges the same week the sponsor charge was applied. I was on the phone with Capitalone several times that week.

I just found this post. I'll investigate next week.

Multipass is still registered with Thibaud. I wanted to replace it with Google Contributor, but getting approved is taking ages. I'm giving up on that now. I'll transfer the Multipass account this month. For existing subscribers, nothing will change.

WinCert will remain free and ad supported.

I had a PM with NIM last week concerning this charge. I signed up to be a sponsor ( I forgot) for $10/yr. It is a recurring charge. I no longer will be a sponsor after this year and the $10 charge will stop. That's what this is about...

    regards....

  10. I know this is off topic. I was charged $10 yesterday to my CC. Has something to do with Wincert. The seller's name is  Nikica M. It also might be a recurring charge, possibly every year. Before I dispute this does anyone recognize what it could be? I don't believe we pay to be a member of Wincert.

Just have a look at first post ! ULs Links are above the tutorial's links.

ok thank you.:D So on our part the links are the same as they always were (now below the tutorials, thx thierseeB)), but where they are linked to has changed. And has mooms said, its even easier now!

    @pennsylvaniaron @Thiersee

Links were disabled from Mediafire because of a claim by M$. I suppose they have robots that track every file including "Windows" "SP", and ULs were downloaded almost 3500 times since they are released.  I don't break the rules since links in ULs are those from M$ servers, and no files are hacked. I don't want to waste my time joining M$ to remove the claim. And if M$ did its job correctly with updates, ULs would be useless... So links are removed, and files have been posted in Wincert server (as it's the case for Office and Win10 ULs).

Where? Can you provide a link?

Sometimes installation of KB2685811 bugs with WTK installer. I don't believe that order of updates matters. I usually put KBs in number order as you do.

For KB4041083, it depends wich DNF installer you choose : icare's one is up to date, I don't know if it's the case for the others (if they aren't, this update is asked).

I understand. I'm just happy using the procedure I made (I made a doc to refer to) that the IE11 failing to install issue has been resolved:D.

The only kb's in my silent at this point are 2685811 and 2685813. It was just curious to me why 2685813 INSTALLS but 2685811 does NOT:blink:. I ASSume they are very similar, but understand your explanation. No big thing, just trying to get this to be PERFECT:).

right now I'm a very happy camper:P. Once again all your efforts (and thiersee's) MUCH APPRECIATED!

    regards...

  14. Gentlemen sorry for the confusion. The reason this came about was purely by accident. Thiersee as you know from our pm's and I have written numerous times just about every month when making my iso I was having IE11 FAIL to integrate. I would then have to do the integration over, numerous times. After 3 or 4 attempts it would work and I didn't know why. After awhile the eyes and mind get blurry. This month I did the method stated above and MOST IMPORTANTLY IE11 integrated with no problems. I realized if I deleted the 4 known issues from my silent list, then included them, IE11 WORKS!. Again I was using a preset with the 4 known issues being carried over in the silent every month. If left there then IE11 FAILS.

At that point I was VERY HAPPY. But curiosity got the best of me so I posed the question to the forum where there is much experience and knowledge using WTK and the UL's. When I made the change described in detail above I noticed the 4 unknown issues getting integrated and just posed the question as to why since they are not in the updates and silents. It seemed to me to be duplicating the 4 issues by then including them in the silent list. I see them getting integrated so why extend and installation by including them in the silent list.

hey I'm thrilled that IE11 doesn't fail on me anymore by doing it the way described. A 45 minute procedure was taking me 4 hrs and lots of frustration every month.

I will try the procedure that thiersee recommends just to see what happens, but at this point my philosophy is>> if it ain't broke don't fix it. My final VM install with the iso I make seems perfect.

I truly APPRECIATE the TIME and EFFORT by both you chaps. Any other information on your testing truly appreciated. (you might want to replicate what I initially was doing with the 4 known issues being carried over (preset) in the silents to see if IE11 fails and if so, WHY?)

My goal was to learn more (which I did) and hopefully help others or find out if there is a bug, which I think there is because of the IE11 failure. knowledge is power, correct?

    regards...
