[14 Juin 2014] Updates Packs GDR Windows 7 SP1

Recommended Posts

No, you can't, because Win7 SP1 must be already installed and running!

You can only integrate KB2574819 as prerequisite and put the others in the sfx-silent-installers, in this order:

KB2757650

KB2830477

KB2913751

Well yeah i simply do my usual integrating with SetupComplete.cmd without integrating KB2830477 and KB2913751. The final result is perfect, missing 2 updates but i dont really care.

To answer you im speaking french in a french forum, so i'm obv from Quebec :).

Bonne question !

Lol...

......

Do you know wich updates it replaces ?

.....

No, I don't; I know only the indo on the MS-Page.

Anyway, it seems it's a restricted (by request only) hotfix, so as long as it is not "public", I will not include it.

It's ok, of course!

Hi Mooms,

I did some tests and KB2926933 seems NOT to replace any update at all! My test sequence:

1st step

1) I toke ALL FW 3.5.1 related updates (15 pieces) out of the update-folder with your pack and made an integration, putting KB2926933 under updates.

2) After installation (VirtualBox) and restart WU asked for the foolwing FW-3.5.1-updates

     KB2604115

     KB2656356 (NOT in your pack)

     KB2729452

     KB2736422

     KB2742599

     KB2756921

     KB2789645

     KB2832414

     KB2836942 (NOT in your pack)

     KB2840631

     KB2844286

     KB2861191

     KB2861698

     KB2863240

     KB2911501

WU did NOT ask for KB2898857 and KB2801112 (in your pack)

After update-install and restart WU asked only for KB982670 (FW 4.0 Client Profile)

2nd Step

1) FW 4.0 client-profile installed; after restart WU asked for 14 updates for NET-FW 4.0

2) After update-install and restart WU did not ask for more updates, neither FW 3.5.1 nor 4.0

Now, what sould this story mean?

You can simply add KB2926933 to the next pack, may be together with the two updates not present in your pack, and without the two present, but not asked by WU.

Have a good week-end :fun: :beerchug: !

Thanks for the test Thiersee.

KB2898857 was added this month (it replace KB2833946). It's a security fix.

KB2801112 is not in my packs, and unknow for Google, must be a typo.

KB2656356 is from december 2011, and seems superseded.

KB2836942 also seems superseded, it update system.web.extensions.dll to versions 3.5.30729.5454 (GDR) & 3.5.30729.7040 (LDR), with my pack the file is already on versions 3.5.30729.5458 (GDR) & 3.5.30729.7057 (LDR)

1) I know, but it's a bit strange, that WU doesn't ask for.

2) Of course, my mistake! I mean KB2901112!

3) Again, strange, that WU is asking for.

4) OK

Bonjour,

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931125

Pour le 11 Mar 2014 :

This item updates the list of root certificates on your computer to the list that is accepted by Microsoft as part of the Microsoft Root Certificate Program. Adding additional root certificates to your computer enables you to use Extended Validation (EV) certificates in Internet Explorer, a greater range of security enhanced Web browsing, encrypted e-mail, and security enhanced code delivery. This update also removes a number of root certificates that use 1024 bit RSA keys and are no longer deemed secure. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer. Once you have installed this item, it cannot be removed.

Google Translate:

I am surprised that MS blocks these update packs, after all, there is nothing illegal, and no file is cracked or modified. Too bad, it falls just when I was asked to do an installation of 32-bit Seven day! Totu in case, I'm glad I could nab those 64 bits.
Remains only to find another host, have you tried dl.free.fr? it's just a lot slower.
If it is not possible to provide the update packs, we still have the solution proposed by gillesg, namely the list of WUD. I have tested it for Office, but it works very well. By cons, only the list to 64 bit Seven is available.

Actually, since MS owns the copyright to the software, they are within their rights to control how the software is distributed, whether it is modified in any way or not.

Cheers and Regards
