I would like to edit the first part of Windows setup the blue text area, where you choose partition size and such, what files do I need to edit ?

- USETUP.EXE (i was able to edit text in Message Table part of it, with PE Explorer.)

- WINNT.EXE (i was able to change-replace some text, with Hex editor, cause it's DOS exe.)

Not sure, if U really want to mess with it.

Does V'ISO include the Windows Sidebar? If it does, then I don't have to integrate the separate addon!

Additionally, if it does, that means V'ISO will be updated soon...great!

One more question though:

Has the issue with Windows Movie Maker been resolved?

Has the small icons used for Disk Cleanup been fixed from their current 8-bit versions?

I love how complete this software is, and it only gets better! Thanks ricktendo!

- Nope, no sidebar in it

- Update? what I would like is maybe a autoit expert to step in and maybe write a simple gui/exe that will use the resources from V'ISO or any of your own custom resources

- Movie Maker will give you that error if you patch it, so the only fix us me would be not to touch it :(

- Will look into Disk Cleanup icons

- Its not really software per-say, its just a .BAT file with a bunch of resources I've collected :P

Ricktendo, I was just experimenting with patching the latest shell32.dll (in the RVM pack) manually (as per the command line used in your V'ISO batch file) as I wished to make a seperate "double-patched" version of the file that included my own Run Box modifications.

I've noticed however that regarding editing the PE Checksum, the program you use - PEChecksum - does not appear to modify the PE at all, reporting the same checksum afterwards as before I ran the file through it. And the alternative and older program - ModifyPE - appears to have some kind of problem understanding a V'ISO-patched file, as it keeps saying "could not open file", even if the file is present and not being occupied by any other program.

Is it some incompatibility thing you reckon?

Awesome! Beats VTP8 :D Can this patch be included in a Windows XP ISO?
Thats why its called V'ISO. Its for patching your ISO

You can also modify/change the res files anyway you like and then repack it, thus having your own personal modded version

lol I'm totally new to this stuff, but it sounds pretty neat! :)

So even if it doesn't appear to modify the file PEChecksum still fixes it in a way?
I think thats correct, PEChecksum makes sure the file actually has a checksum, I have noticed that files without one are the ones that usually get the copy error during textmode setup

Minor update 8.1.1, added amnesia's ntmsmgr.dll, tweaked the copy dialog box a bit and also added fediafedia's Vista Run dialog box for XP

Next I think will work on patching the files I did not because they were CABBED

hi ricks

is it possible for you to add the vista High Resolution icons? so on a high res desktop like mine (1920x1080) the icons will look just like original vista icons. and yes i know the overall winxp iso is going to be bigger, but maybe you can add 2 different slipstreamers, 1 for low res, and 1 for high res.

thank you
