o!drive has been developed to watch and control DVD and CD-ROM drives on Windows.

If you are using this program, please keep in mind the following statements:

The author does bear no responsibility and gives no warranties at all. You are using this software at your own risks. Are you afraid?!.. Then delete it quickly! :)

The program has been created by the author for his own needs solely. If it works somewhere else, please consider this fact as a lucky coincident.

The program is absolutely free. You may treat it as you wish. But if you decide to sell it, then according to this license agreement 90% of the profit belongs to the author.

the quantity of the icons is equal to the quantity of CD/DVD drives (up to 26!);

the drive letter on the icon;

it can determine and display the condition of the drive tray independently of the disc presence;

under Windows NT/2000/XP it can run as a system service;

the handling by the drives is performing in the separate threads;

hot keys to control: every drive separately, one selected with an ability to choose, or all at once;

o!pen and close a drive tray by double-clicking on the it's icon;

auto-close a drive by the timer with notification;

auto-open driive trays during the Windows shutdown;

lock the drives;

speed limit of the drive rotation;

play an audio CD from the tray menu;

quick and easy on and off disc autorun;

multilingual user interface;

the settings are stoped in the INI-file for the convenient transfer on another computer.

System requirements:

At least one o!ptical drive ;)

If there are none of them on the computer, o!drive is displaying the gray icon and doesn't work.

Windows 95 OSR2 or later.

On the previous versions of Windows o!drive won't be able to display the disc size correctly.

SPTI or ASPI installed.

If both they are absent, o!drive won't be able to determine the condition of the drive tray without a disc. Also for the correct functionality it requires MMC-2 compatible drives.

SPTI is supported by default on Windows NT, 2000 and XP, ASPI is supported on Windows 95 OSR2, 98 and Me. You can also install ASPI with any CD/DVD recording program (for example, Nero Burning ROM), or download a standalone http://set.nm.ru/get_e.html" target="_blank">ASPI package.
