[Update] Internet Download Manager V5.18 Build 5 11/11/09

Recommended Posts

Internet Download Manager (IDM) is a tool to increase download speeds by up to 5 times, resume and schedule downloads. Comprehensive error recovery and resume capability will restart broken or interrupted downloads due to lost connections, network problems, computer shutdowns, or unexpected power outages. Simple graphic user interface makes IDM user friendly and easy to use.Internet Download Manager has a smart download logic accelerator that features intelligent dynamic file segmentation and safe multipart downloading technology to accelerate your downloads. Unlike other download managers and accelerators Internet Download Manager segments downloaded files dynamically during download process and reuses available connections without additional connect and login stages to achieve best acceleration performance.

Internet Download Manager supports proxy servers, ftp and http protocols, firewalls, redirects, cookies, authorization, MP3 audio and MPEG video content processing. IDM integrates seamlessly into Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape, MSN Explorer, AOL, Opera, Mozilla, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Firebird, Avant Browser, MyIE2, and all other popular browsers to automatically handle your downloads. You can also drag and drop files, or use Internet Download Manager from command line. Internet Download Manager can dial your modem at the set time, download the files you want, then hang up or even shut down your computer when it's done.

Other features include multilingual support, zip preview, download categories, scheduler pro, sounds on different events, HTTPS support, queue processor, html help and tutorial, enhanced virus protection on download completion, progressive downloading with quotas (useful for connections that use some kind of fair access policy or FAP like Direcway, Direct PC, Hughes, etc.), built-in download accelerator, and many others.

Version 5.18 adds IDM download panel for web-players that can be used to download flash videos from sites like YouTube, MySpaceTV, and Google Videos. It also features complete Vista support, YouTube grabber, redeveloped scheduler, and MMS protocol support. The new version also adds improved integration for IE and IE based browsers, redesigned and enhanced download engine, the unique advanced integration into all latest browsers, improved toolbar, and a wealth of other improvements and new features.

Again ... What is the best order of installation for all addons that someone has? (Making a DVD install of XP).

First with Microsoft addons and then the rest?

Or better is to let the addon Microsoft last?

(The next time I draw ... lol! )

regards... :g:

hi,

these So called internet boosters are all a big Humbug, they dont increase the speed, for instance you check the internet

speed http://www.ip-details.com/internet-speed-test/ before and after installing the software you wont find any difference

for your info there is not such thing called increase speed

the Good in this app is how much does it consume from the internet

you can make a speed in downloading

download 2 files with 2 different apps the one which finishes first is the fastest

hi,

to shalimar,

if your on a really fast connection then yeah it does! really fast meanin 16mb/SEC, 32mb/SEC or 50mb/SEC, for me and i think for most of us it will not make it faster.

when i went back to the UK for christmas my dad 16mb/SEC [on paper], when i was downloading with firefox or internet explorer is was downloadin around 400kb/SEC to 500kb/SEC but with IDM on 16 connections it was around 1mb/SEC.

ne way what this program does 4 me is saves all my site logins for easy downloadin EG rapidshare

sort downloads in to folders automatically

automatically shuts down computer when downloads r finish [priceless 4 over nite downloads ;)]

downloadin ne video off the web

top program in my eyes! hey mite even update this 1 4 u lads ;)

to arsenal,

hey mate, yeah give all the silent installs up since after chirstmas hav'nt really hav time and funny enough since i got my hands on Win7 i hav'nt been use that many silent installs my Win7 now has been installed 4 about 3 months now thats abit of a record 4 me! LOL! yeah that ELiTE bloke is really takin it to far!!! make a couple of the 1s u use but not every program on the net! maybe hes goin 4 the world record???

Ryan's Forum looks to much like MajorGeeks!!! so hope he does'nt find out about Wincert!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
