LUZR4LIFE
I just found out to day that it will not be released on the 19th from inside sources. I am pissed.
ccl0
yea, i think they had some issues to sort out. so any of those leaked performance numbers are probably fake or engineering samples. only other thing i know is the 8 core chip will priced at $300 http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/cpu/display/20110728094628_AMD_Confirms_Pricing_of_Eight_Core_FX_Processors_Approximately_300.htmlfrom what i remember, the FX-series is the ones that come unlocked (i think)
LUZR4LIFE
FX was the series that killed Intel way back. LOL. The specs are correct but the release date is wrong
ccl0
hm. interesting if true http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/coolers/display/20110811072448_AMD_Considers_Equipping_FX_Chips_with_Liquid_Cooling_Solution.html
ccl0
well this sucks. seems to be delayed AGAIN :ranting:http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/cpu/display/20110906133712_AMD_Reschedules_Launch_of_FX_Series_Chips_to_October_Changes_Launch_Lineup.html
LUZR4LIFE
Yeah, there is no official release date. There is also talk about BD not being released on the 990FX mobo's and that they will be release for 1090FX mobo's. The 1090FX mobo's will have PCI-E 3.0 etc. on them
ccl0
early reviews not that great http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2197909
LUZR4LIFE
early reviews not that great http://forums.anandt...d.php?t=2197909I know. I am very disappointed. I was going to by the 8150 today but since my 1090's beat it, I will stick with them for awhile. I will probably wait for a EPP and get it then but right now I can spend 250 for just a extra "2 cores". I would still like to have a "QMP" (Quad Modular Processor). NIM
Seems that i7 is a beast, but very expensive as well.
ccl0
I was really hopeful for bd..but its just not for me. It almost seems like amd is selling this to the wrong people (home users)as opposed to business/server/enterprise companies etc. Really a shame. I had amd durons, thunderbirds, athalon 64s... But my next cpu will be intel. I put off building a new system for months hoping bd would be something great, and have been let down. LUZR4LIFE
Yeah, this would be great for servers etc. I am still going to get it but at a later date.
