There won't be W7T release in a while because the graphics card on my laptop has died and i'm going to try and get a refund. :ranting: :ranting: :notworking: :censored:

Hopefully they will send me a replacement part, if not i'll have to buy a new laptop which is gonna cost loads lol. This is the last thing i need, i start University in 4 weeks and i'll need a laptop.

Just thought i'd let you all know. Feel free to continue making requests, etc... I will let you know when my laptop works/get a new one.

If you're willing to make the trip down to Cambridgeshire (4hr drive one way), you can have an old Toshiba Satellite Pro A60EN I have collecting dust. It all works, but it's really slow (runs XP).

Toshiba Specs:

Celeron 2.8GHz

256MB RAM

40GB 4200rpm HDD

ATI something graphics

Circa 2002

Or for 100 squid you can have my trusty Gateway M505 (Has XP but will run Win7).

Shoot, for 100 you can have them both. My wife's been bugging me to put them on ebay just to get them out from behind the sofa! :tired:

The only thing I've been using them for is to test DriverPacks on.

Thanks for the offer but i've already ordered one from ebay. I'm officially skint now :D

Dell Studio 1749 gaming laptop.

Intel i7 QuadCore (8 core with Hyperthreading)

8GB DDR3 RAM

32GB SSD with 640GB HDD

1GB integrated ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650

Ironically i don't really play computer games

:P

I've asked for 24 hour delivery so should arrive Tuesday.. I've managed to get W7T code of my old computer so i haven't lost any files thank god.

P.S. Didn't know you're from the UK too

Actually since I work for the US military but live in the UK I still maintain an APO box at the local base. Very handy for saving $$ in shipping from Amazon/Newegg. ;)

PM me.

Holy Cow Lego! That's a beast! That beats my primary tower system!

What chipset does that have? If it's an Intel z68 then you can enable RAID caching between the SSD/HDD.

Hey that is close to what I have! So now you have a good reason to have a minimal Win7 instal also ;)

What's your spec?

dv8t quad edition

• Intel® Core™ i7-720QM Quad Core processor (1.6GHz, 6MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 2.8 GHz

• 4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)

• 500GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection

+ added SSD: Intel 40 GB X25-V (slower but cheap at the time)

• 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 230M

• 18.4" diagonal High Definition HP Ultra BrightView Infinity Display (1920x1080p) (biggest laptop screen)

I haven't used it really yet; once I get all the software on it for studio/web design, that is all I will use it for. I use my Core Duo desktop for web surfing, gaming, & light programming.

Just had to ask for a refund because he is having issues with it and he said he would have to put an i5 (Dual Core) in it, i specifically want an i7 (Quad Core). I'm starting to get annoyed now... :( :nunchaku:

What? I thought it was a Dell? Sounds like a scammer.

This is how I found my laptop:

http://slickdeals.ne...+%28i3|i5|i7%29

& have Mr Pants get it via APO. I live nearish a Micro Center if the best deal is there.

I hope you didn't pay full price for that HP; last news report I read is that HP is pulling out of the PC business!

Plus, I would not ever recommend an HP with out an in-house computer geek; their Indian tech support is awful. I spent 4 hours one day getting them to admit their FireWire connection stinks, & 3 hours to admit to tweak their OS install you had to buy another retail Win7 copy. Very poor customer service.

eBay (new condition), it's spec is perfect for me. My old laptop was HP and served me very very well and i am the in-house computer geek :P with 12 years experience. Never used FireWire.

P.S. The first thing i'm going to do is format and do a fresh install, i hate software which comes with computers!!!!!!!

The spec of this newer laptop is more powerful then the one i bought originally for only $30 more :D

for me its different, i would of first tried to fix it myself and then by a new mobo, shops can be expensive and just add to the cost.

I recently about a month ago buy a new mobo for my old laptop, but for some reason it ran really really got and the graphics card no longer works, so i have to return it to china for a replacement. Once i receive the replacement i will put it back together and will end up with 2 laptops (one for backup).

I needed a new laptop because i will be moving to university next Friday, which also means i won't be able to release a new version because i won't have an internet connection for a couple of weeks but luckily i have a bunch of error logs to fix whilst i have no connection :)
