1. I have noticed an increasing amount of users using W7T at the same time as programs like vLite, RT7Lite, etc... Please stop it is causing errors.

2. Also someone seems to be translating my code into Russian, also please stop because when I recieve error logs I can't read or understand them so the problem won't get fixed. The translations themselves are causing errors.

If I have to I will be strict:

1. Block W7T from running at the same time as other programs, for example force it to exit OR make it ignore those logs, possibly both.

2. Just have stronger encryption so it may become slower to load.

Information such as what windows you are using, which version of W7T and the error message, also AIO tool adds what you added. No personal information is uploaded, just stuff which will help me fix errors. If it makes you feel any better you can turn them off and i delete them regularly (each new version).

Information such as what windows you are using, which version of W7T and the error message, also AIO tool adds what you added. No personal information is uploaded, just stuff which will help me fix errors. If it makes you feel any better you can turn them off and i delete them regularly (each new version).

That's fine, I just wanted to know what was being shared. Thanks!

Basically I have RT7Lite installed, but it became obsolete (basically project is dead and full of bugs)...no wonder, it causes errors...

I never used it together with W7Toolkit, because, it will most likely break something in image, and generally its a very bad idea to "mix" different "tweaking" tools. ;)

Also, if you decide to do it, then it is YOUR decision, so dont blame developers (or report "self-caused" bugs), if something breaks or other bad things will happen (including your dead kittens).... :P

I don't mind it people use W7T and then vLite/RT7Lite or visa-versa, but some people are having them both running at the SAME time lol! Like sometimes W7T can't unmount an image properly because another program is also editing the image and therefore corrupts it.

Luckily, W7T isn't that much hard coded but there are some areas where it is hardcoded which are easily fixable.

Maybe you should just implement checking of running processes?

If dism or dismhost is something similar is running, display an "error or notification" on Toolkit launch and disable image mounting part of it?

It should be fine for using them at the same time for other purposes, for example modifying image with RT7Lite and create unattended files with your tool... :)

Hopefully soon there won't be anything that RT7Lite can do that can't be done with W7T!

@Etz, currently, what can RT7Lite do that W7T can't? ie, since we know that Rt7Lite is buggy, obsolete, and not supported, why use it at all?

Cheers and Regards

RT7lite is very very buggy and is no longer supported with updates since Dec 2010. Bensam56 is no longer seen in his forum. The promises that there will be an update to v.3.0 are worthless ! But some people believe furthermore that there will be a new development. But nothing happens since nearly one year ! Don't be silly: RT 7lite is Dead !

Yes, many people are disappointed and no message was given about the new RT Se7en Lite 3.0!

But Benjamin made a really hard work!!! Maybe that was too hard and he need some rest ....Good luck to him!

Now here is the forum about Windows 7 Toolkit.

Please don't mix everything! Thanks

I don't mix the two tools. But I only give an answer to the member bphlpt ! His question what can RT7lite what 7Toolkit is not able to do.

I'm happy that this tool is devolped further.

I don't need the sp1 integration because I have a .iso from technet. SP1 integration is the only thing what RT7lite can do, what 7 Toolkit is not able to do.

Blocking it is fine, but Legolash2o only added the "calling home" aspect in order to simplify/automate troubleshooting, for the benefit of us all. It only does it to check for updates and report errors. If you have an error that you want support on, it makes it so much easier if it has already sent a report automatically. Otherwise you will be required to submit the info manually so that Legolash2o will have all the info he needs to diagnose the problem correctly.

I believe that the blocking should only be used if you know what you are doing and you know that you are going to be doing some experimentation that has a good likelihood of causing errors and you don't want to clutter up Legolash2o's inbox with junk unnecessarily. Most users should keep the blocking off and allow reporting. It's not like you're trying to get away with something, are you? W7T is free.

Cheers and Regards

#1 It only calls home when there is a error in the proccessing ONLY THEN!

#2 This helps development you want that don't you???

#3 Like previously said what are you hiding? It only gets super basic info about W7T and the windows versioning.

Windows 7 Toolkit v1.3.0.60
W7T Directory: C:\Users\Lego\Desktop
System Directory: C:\Windows\system32
Lego-PC (Lego)
Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7600 Service Pack 1 (en-US)
Windows 7 Enterprise
7600.16385.amd64fre.win7_rtm.090713-1255
6.1.7600.65536 (64-bit,8)

THIS is all it sends of the system you are on.

Great app here now I block it from calling homee :P

W7T does not call home.

1. Checking for updates.

W7T reads this page to see if there is a new version, nothing else!

2. Error Logs

I gave an example above, it does not contain any personal information which can identify you and i delete them on a regular basis. Some people are not good at describing errors or just say "W7T crashed on me" which is of no use at all, so it's best if W7T tells me but feel free to turn off error logging although if you do have a better, you better give me a lot of details with screenshots etc..

1. True, it only sends back error details, that's all!

2. Again, true. Error logging has helped me fix A LOT and i meant A LOT of errors which users have not even mentioned.

3. If you want to start doing experimental stuff and it works, let me know or even request the feature in the request forum and i'll probably add it :)

I am planning on removing the "Lego-PC (Lego)" as having the PC name is not really important, i'm also going to remove some other stuff from the example above.
