This guide will provide you with steps on how to install an HP LaserJet Pro M15w wireless printer. HP LaserJet Pro M15w is one of the smallest wireless printers on the market.
After you have unboxed your printer, make sure to turn it on, but do not connect the printer to your computer with a USB cable just yet. A flashing blue Wi-Fi icon on the printer is showing that Wi-Fi has not been configured/connected.
Navigate to the following page: HP LaserJet Pro M15w Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Customer Support
Please make sure that the web page has properly detected your Operating System.
Scroll down and click on the Download link to get the HP LaserJet Pro M15/M17w Printer Full Software Solution. (See the image below)
Run the downloaded file and click Continue twice and accept the installation agreement and settings.
On the Connection Options page select Automatic Setup (Recommended). Click Next.
On the Printer Found page select Connect Manually button.
On the Wireless Setup Using a USB Connection page select Cancel.
On the Connection options page select the USB – Connect the device to this computer using a USB cable radio button and click Next.
You should be prompted to connect the USB cable now, so please connect the printer to your computer. Setup will automatically detect the connection and proceed with the installation of device driver software.
On the Wi-Fi Direct Printing page click Next.
On the Information About Your Device page select how will you primarily use the device. Enter the Postal Code number and click Next.
You should now be redirected to Setup Complete page! Click X in the right upper corner to close this window. Click on Yes, Skip on the Activation prompt.
From the Start Menu type “printers” and open Printers & scanners snap-in.
Select the installed printer and click Manage. Now click Printer properties and click to Print Test Page. The printer has now been installed using the USB cable. Now we’ll proceed with Wi-Fi installation.
Now we should run the same setup we have downloaded from the HP LaserJet Pro M15w Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Customer Support page.
On the Device Setup & Software page select Convert a USB connected device to wireless.
On the following screen, your Wi-Fi connection will be automatically detected, but only if you’re currently connected to it. If not, please enter the Wi-Fi information. Select Yes, I want to use this network.
Click Next twice and you should be asked to disconnect the USB cable now. Click Next once done.
On the Wi-Fi Direct printing page click Next. Now close the Activation window and click Yes, Skip, to skip the product activation.
You can now easily install HP LaserJet Pro M15w wireless printer on another computer using a wireless connection.
To do that, open Printers and Scanners snap-in and click Add a printer or scanner.
After a few moments, you should be able to install your wireless printer.
