Remove non-present devices

<p><a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;wincert&period;net&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2015&sol;01&sol;microsoft-windows&period;jpg"><img class&equals;"alignnone size-full wp-image-517" src&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;wincert&period;net&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2015&sol;01&sol;microsoft-windows&period;jpg" alt&equals;"microsoft windows" width&equals;"720" height&equals;"340" &sol;><&sol;a><br &sol;>&NewLine;These days system virtualization is used almost everywhere&period; Most of you who are reading this article have probably already used some of the well known virtualization applications like Virtual PC&comma; Hyper-V&comma; Xen Server&comma; VmWare ESX or VmWare client etc&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;I will give you a tip on how to improve your virtual machine performance&comma; especially if you&&num;8217&semi;ve made a physical to virtual conversion&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><&excl;--more--><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>For instance&comma; you&&num;8217&semi;ve connected some devices to your PC&comma; which you won&&num;8217&semi;t use anymore&period; The device is removed but the driver stays for good&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Those &&num;8216&semi;left-over&&num;8217&semi; drivers can cause problems if they become enabled in the means of hardware conflicts or system starts to behave strangely&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Here is the tutorial on how to remove those drivers&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>For a start we have to add environment variable&colon;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>DEVMGR&lowbar;SHOW&lowbar;NONPRESENT&lowbar;DEVICES<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>To the Environment Variables dialog box&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Right click <strong>&&num;8216&semi;My Computer&&num;8217&semi; &vert; Properties &vert; Advanced System Settings &vert; Environment Variables<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Click NEW under &&num;8216&semi;<strong>System Variables<&sol;strong>&&num;8216&semi; and add <strong>&&num;8216&semi;devmgr&lowbar;show&lowbar;nonpresent&lowbar;devices&&num;8217&semi;<&sol;strong> environment variable to the System Variables panel&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>When the dialog box appears type <strong>&&num;8216&semi;devmgr&lowbar;show&lowbar;nonpresent&lowbar;devices&&num;8217&semi;<&sol;strong> in the <strong>Variable Name<&sol;strong> field and type &&num;8216&semi;<strong>1<&sol;strong>&&num;8216&semi; in the <strong>Variable Value<&sol;strong> field&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Hit <strong>OK<&sol;strong>&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Now to remove &&num;8216&semi;non-present devices&&num;8217&semi; in device manager&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Hit &&num;8216&semi;Windows Orb&&num;8217&semi; and type &&num;8216&semi;Device Manager&&num;8217&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>When Device Manager opens&comma; select the &&num;8216&semi;view&&num;8217&semi; menu and choose &&num;8216&semi;<strong>Show Hidden Devices<&sol;strong>&&num;8216&semi;&period; Open any of the hardware selections&comma; for instance &&num;8216&semi;Disk Drives&&num;8217&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Here you can see greyed device drivers which aren&&num;8217&semi;t currently in use&period; If you are sure that you won&&num;8217&semi;t need those drivers anymore&comma; right click on it and click uninstall&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>If you need help&comma; please post a comment and I will try to help&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
