Windows Update – Install now button grayed out

<p>One of our Windows 10 clients wasn&&num;8217&semi;t able to install downloaded Windows updates from the WSUS server&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>No matter if a user or admin logs on to the machine the Windows Update &&num;8211&semi; Install now button is always grayed out&period; Although this client is receiving updates from the WSUS server&comma; users should be able to manually install downloaded updates&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><img class&equals;"alignnone wp-image-3057 size-full" title&equals;"Windows Update - Install now" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;wincert&period;net&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2019&sol;04&sol;wsusgrayedout&period;png" alt&equals;"Windows Update - Install now" width&equals;"465" height&equals;"516" &sol;><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In order to install updates&comma; I had to delete the registry key that was defined through Group Policy&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Open Registry editor and navigate to the following key&colon;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Computer&bsol;HKEY&lowbar;LOCAL&lowbar;MACHINE&bsol;SOFTWARE&bsol;Policies&bsol;Microsoft&bsol;Windows&bsol;Windows Update&bsol;AU<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Delete the contents of the <strong>AU<&sol;strong> key from the right pane&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>After a couple of minutes&comma; you should see updates started installing&period; Once the system is restarted&comma; the <strong>AU<&sol;strong> key will be recreated from the <strong>Group Policy<&sol;strong>&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
