<p>When you try to map a CD-Rom drive to virtual machine in VMware console you might get the following message:</p>
<p>Remote device on X: (drive letter) connected to (hostname) disconnected.</p>
<p>The problem lies in UAC. For this purpose, you don&#8217;t have to disable UAC. Rather right-click on VMware vSphere Client shortcut and select Compatibility tab.</p>
<p>Under Privilege Level check the &#8216;Run this program as an administrator&#8217; checkbox.</p>
<p>Simple as that :)</p>
