How to manage Microsoft 365 groups as non-admin

<p>Just recently non-admins were unable to manage user groups in Microsoft 365 Active Directory&period; Luckily&comma; it is now possible to grant permissions to non-admin users for managing Microsoft 365 Active Directory groups&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In order to allow non-admin users to manage Microsoft 365 groups here&&num;8217&semi;s what you have to do&colon;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Create a Microsoft 365 Active Directory group<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Click on the newly created group to open its properties and from the left pane select <strong>Owners<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><img class&equals;"alignnone size-full wp-image-4036" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;wincert&period;net&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2020&sol;12&sol;group-owners&period;png" alt&equals;"" width&equals;"789" height&equals;"447" &sol;><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Add the desired user as the owner<&sol;strong>&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Now go to <strong>portal&period;azure&period;com<&sol;strong> and from the left pane select <strong>Groups<&sol;strong> and then under <strong>Settings<&sol;strong> select <strong>General<&sol;strong>&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>From the right pane under Self Service Group Management setting alter the following&colon;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Owners can manage group membership requests in the Access Panel &&num;8211&semi; Yes<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Restrict user ability to access groups features in the Access Panel&period; &&num;8211&semi; No<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><img class&equals;"alignnone wp-image-4037 size-full" title&equals;"manage Microsoft 365 groups as non-admin" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;wincert&period;net&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2020&sol;12&sol;azure-screenshot&period;png" alt&equals;"manage Microsoft 365 groups as non-admin" width&equals;"718" height&equals;"561" &sol;><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Since non-admin users don&&num;8217&semi;t have access to the <strong>Azure administration portal<&sol;strong>&comma; they can use the apps portal at the following web address <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;myapplications&period;microsoft&period;com" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank" rel&equals;"noopener"><strong>https&colon;&sol;&sol;myapplications&period;microsoft&period;com<&sol;strong><&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><img class&equals;"alignnone wp-image-4038 size-full" title&equals;"manage Microsoft 365 groups as non-admin" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;wincert&period;net&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2020&sol;12&sol;my-apps&period;png" alt&equals;"manage Microsoft 365 groups as non-admin" width&equals;"418" height&equals;"177" &sol;><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>From there user can choose the<strong> My Apps<&sol;strong> dropdown list and select <strong>My Groups<&sol;strong>&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Once the Group has been selected&comma; a non-admin user that we have previously added as an owner for the group will be able to manage group membership by clicking on the plus icon&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><img class&equals;"alignnone size-full wp-image-4039" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;wincert&period;net&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2020&sol;12&sol;add-members&period;png" alt&equals;"" width&equals;"595" height&equals;"68" &sol;><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Comments are welcome&excl;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
