<p>If you have the need to remove the Action Center icon from Notification area or system tray (old name) then please do the following:</p>
<p><strong>Open local policy (gpedit.msc)</strong></p>
<p>Navigate to:</p>
<p><strong>User Configuration | Administrative Templates | Start Menu and Taskbar</strong></p>
<p>In the right pane double click on the &#8216;<strong>Remove the Action Center icon</strong>&#8216; and select Enable to remove the icon from the Notification Area or System Tray.</p>

<p>Close the local policy editor and logoff and logon again.</p>
