Firefox will allow its users to delete telemetry data in the next update

<p>User privacy should be taken more seriously now after California&&num;8217&semi;s Consumer Privacy Act &lpar;CCPA&rpar; came into effect on January 1&comma; 2020&period; With CCPA in effect&comma; Mozilla plans to release the update for its Firefox browser that should allow users to request the deletion of their Telemetry data&period; The new Telemetry option should be added in the next Firefox v72 update planned for 7th January 2020&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><img class&equals;"alignnone size-full wp-image-3471" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;wincert&period;net&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2020&sol;01&sol;forest-2386721&lowbar;640&period;jpg" alt&equals;"" width&equals;"640" height&equals;"234" &sol;><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Mozilla said that all users whether located in the EU should have the same rights under the law&period; The company believes that privacy is fundamental to the online experience and that everyone should benefit from the rights laid out in GDPR&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>After installation of Firefox v72 update users will be able to request the deletion of telemetry data by following these steps&colon;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Settings &lpar;hamburger menu&rpar; &vert; Options &vert; Privacy and Security &vert; Firefox Data Collection and Use<&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Deselect the &&num;8220&semi;<strong>Allow Firefox to send technical and interaction data to Mozilla&&num;8221&semi; checkbox<&sol;strong>&&num;8220&semi;&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Once this option has been unchecked Mozilla will get a request to delete all the telemetry data for that Client ID&period; After successful completion&comma; users will get the following message&colon; &&num;8220&semi;<strong>You&&num;8217&semi;re no longer allowing Mozilla to capture technical and interaction data&period; All Past data will be deleted within 30 days<&sol;strong>&&num;8220&semi;&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
