<p>By default users without administrative permissions does not have permission to install printers from the server or the network.</p>
<p>To avoid granting users administrative permissions here&#8217;s what you need to do:</p>
<p>Open <strong>Local Management Console (gpedit.msc)</strong> from run prompt.</p>
<p>Navigate to:</p>
<p><strong>Computer Configuration | Administrative Templates | Printers</strong></p>
<p>In the right pane open &#8216;Point and Print Restrictions&#8217;</p>
<p>Set it to &#8216;Enabled&#8217;<!--more--></p>
<p>On both Security prompts disable elevation prompts as in the picture below:</p>

<p>Navigate to <strong>Computer Configuration | Administrative Templates | System | Driver Installation</strong></p>
<p>In the right pane open the following setting:</p>
<p>Allow non-administrators to install drivers for these device setup classes</p>
<p>Type the following value:</p>
<p><strong>{4D36E979-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}</strong></p>

<p>Close the management console and you should be able to install printers with user permissions.</p>
