I like Diskeeper too, it has a service that runs on background, and defrags the system automatically, very smart program
By the way, check this article on ms support:
Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows XP, and Microsoft Windows 2000 include a tool for disk defragmentation. The Windows Disk Defragmenter tool is a limited version of the Diskeeper program from Diskeeper Corporation. Disk Defragmenter does not include all the features available in the full version of Diskeeper.

I never bothered too much with defragmentations. When I think that my PC is slowing down, I just restore my Acronis BackUp, and have the previous speed again.
Thanks for the article @MrNxDmX, it convinced me to try Diskeeper.
I do the same and once in awhile a fresh installment follow by a new ATI back up

So basically this thread is like asking which Anti-Virus is best lol ... I hardly ever do a defrag, Acronis back ups works best for me
