for the wmp 11 issues,(the minimize resise close) im prety sure its version dependant.using the latest should have solved the problems.
as for the white boxes, that is a problem in the actual skin from fediafedia, i just finished fixing it(god i hate graphics)
n e ways ist getting super late for me,i think every problem has ben adressed (except the batch file thing i over looked).and for the arrrow curson, thats realy strange as the inf and file in the .cab were are valid matches...i simply renamed arrow_l every where to arrown_l instead and it seems to work.

find me cool short cut arrows, im almost done fixing everything, and how do you make the wmp 1 issue appear?

for the modem bmp, i know... but i cant find it,id have to spend half a day looking for it,plus the scanner wizard and possibly the printer wiz also suffer from the same thing.
for the orb logo,yeah that wouldn't be a bad idea.(again if we would want to be kosher on this all M$ logos should be change through out the whole pack.)
for the pixelation issue, this is caused by bad quality and resolution by M$ in their resources. as you can see even ure "my completed downloads" and "download accelerator" icons look just as bad as the arrow on top. ure prolly using thumbnail view..
and finally for ure other strange problems,
1-did you have an antivirus scanning in the background?
2-did u have wmp11+latest hotfix slipped?
3-i see ure not using a theme and are using "classic",can you put a theme on and try wmp 11 again?

about the home rdp thing,since it isn't able to connect to a computer, it can be controlled though.so obviously they removed part of the dialog, but i have no idea why this affects the left side bmp. one of these days ill have to investigate with a Home xp.

ok im working on the modem and scanner wizards.(thx to mr fixit who found them for me)
also he noticed that some patching wasn't happening anymore, this is due to the changes i made to the batch file.what this means is that people who use the manual batch dont have uxtheme,sfc,setupapi getting patched anymore,i will also fix this.
as some may have noticed im trying to get rid of making 2 releases,its just insane.

ive always simply followed my nose! nothing beats the human common sense. if ure unsure of what you download is infected or not then the question that comes to mind, why do you need it?if you still need it then good riddance you deserve to be infected!

qwesta u can use ricks sidebar settings grabber to have any skin ' intergrated' as an addon.
edit:
1-install windows sidebar styler
2-mod/apply ure custom skin to sidebar with the styler, add to the bar ure gadgets you want to use
3-once you got the bar skinned and gadgeted to ure likes, get the attachment from this post and run it, it will create an addon with ure customisation of the bar thus creating a file in the same dir you launched it.include this addon alongside ure integration of the sidebar to get a fully customized bar.

i know this is a long shot but i remember seeing a sorta torn paper skin for the sidebar,i dunno if any one remembers it ,i think it was with the sidebar styler pack if memory serves me well.so if any own has the skin or the styler pack that was posted a while back, plz help me out.thx!

well then i think either 3 choices are fine. i reset the polls so it would be fair(count-wise) and that people could re-vote that had voted in the past before i had added the 2 new skins.

i belive it dosent matter, the only thing that we tried to keep the same are the left side bmp dialog sizes.
i have looked thru sp2res,sysdm,wuaucpl.cpl.res,srrstr.dll.res..etc and the majority of the windows sizes is 499x271.but then again each windows is fitted to sysdm.cpl's size...so like i said i dont think its realy important but it would be more "kosher" to make them all the sime size. but i do thank you for noticing.

i opened a poll so people can vote.
if anyone else comes up with other really nice skins then ill add it to the poll.(you have till about monday-tuesday to submit)
poll will last about 1 week starting NOW! so around next friday-sunday a new release of xptsp will be available with the new wmp 11 resource along with other updates.

well i kinda like the normal black xp wmp 11,the one from ure link (fediafedia) if not very nice to my likes.but then again if enough people demand it, it can be changed but till then ig uess the best way to have it in the pack would be like windowsguy said, put it in ure self, its wmploc.dll.res.

dougie i forgot to tell you that i have changed the theme files so the cursors dont point to the right place in the gui.(btw i checked the luna.theme and it seems to be intact from the original.)
also there is atleast 1 file that dosent get patched in a live patching;
shell32.dll
as it is probably in use byt he system,the way i see it you ahve 2 choices:
1-kill explorer then patch/copy back
2-do a recopy at runonceexe on next boot.
also one last thing,the oem info generation is not getting done correctly, here is a sample from the oeminfo.ini file:
