I've just downloaded a distribution of windows 8.1 pro, and it provides only an install.esd and not an install.wim. As a result, I can't use this tool to modify my image. Could this feature be added?

In the meantime, you might could use a tool such as this one - WinReducer Wim Converter - to convert the ESD to a WIM that you could then work on with Win Toolkit.

@rmanne  baiscally windows 8.1 come withe tow Distribution one in ESD format & the other came in regular WIM format , usually I preferred ESD due the minisize , here atool to convert betwen the ESD<>WIM :

- Based on wimlib-imagex utility created by synchronicity
- Works on Windows XP environment and later.
- Faster than DISM, specially when converting WIM to ESD (but the resulted install.esd size is slightly bigger).

 

the feauter you asked will be in the next version of wintoolkit (v2) .
